not that much, editor is full of slangs, so probably most of it will be in english, it would be retard to translate some words like "slider" or "hitcircle", and it would be confusing for new mappers to mod other people maps or to receive other people mods, since they would use their own slang. Also, probably the text would get disproportionate (bugged) since most of the text its character-limited

btw, the docs now are protected with some kind of authorization, what kind of is this? I'm lost. It's not osu! acc, at least.

In the Spanish one we are translating everything except 'beatmap'. I think it can be done without damaging the 'experience'. The problem is being able to find the right words... but who said translating was easy?

No way, please keep them, everyone knows a slider as a slider, even in spanish, same happens with a lot other words, use your common sense to change them please ^^
Why? It's been like that for 1 year or more, since the first localisation project, and nobody complained about it... and it is obvious that Spanish speaking people have still been modding and ranking maps without any problem.
The position of the universal offset value in the wizard is fixed... Not cool.

Edit: the "Search:" label in lobby should be aligned on the right to avoid any overlapping :?

Same thing for MatchSetup_ComboColour:
If that's not changed... I don't know how are we going to fit anything decent in there in the Spanish one :S

do you mean that it will be too long?

Just use "Compensación". People will know that it refers to "Compensación de sonido universal".

Yes, that should work.

(However, I must say that we did something similar in the "Execute offset wizard" button and still nowadays there are people who change it without no apparent reason).

the reason is because they think that it's wrong, so leave a comment there to explain why your translation is better

Thanks!

I was translating some Japanese FAQs and noticed... some of these FAQs would only make sense in English, in example, !alot command. Keeping completion in percentage may not be a good idea.

Added bancho status messages to localisable strings.
Spanish is again at 100%!
Korean is again 100%.

when you apply Korean Localization?

+ please add IRC localization.
Finally got Indonesian at 100% (had been doing this together with Rei Hakurei, and probably a few others~)

Some strings could still use better translation, but for now it should be fine/understandable enough imo (might look for some other capable and interested translators later to help with wordings and such)
Norwegian is now at 100% because I have nothing better to do.

I'm a bit iffy at some of the strings, but all of them should be decently understandable at this point. Anyone capable of writing a decent translation should probably take a look, or at least tell me if there's anything stupid left.
Indonesian, Filipino, Portuguese and Arabic: please see the remark I wrote in country-maps @ !faq commands.

By the way, I just noticed that some new entries have recently been added in the faq commands, so you might check them out ;)
Updated Japanese, says 100% but there's one row that's not translated.
I'll leave that to somebody that's familiar with osu!mania.

Added candidates for score submission, management, replays and associated errors/messaging.

Updated russian localisation.
UPD: russian is at 100%
UPD2: 100% again :>

MenuTip_29 added.
Filled in all new slots for Japanese.
I added !faq grammar back, it was deleted for some unknown reason.
corrected some spelling mistakes for the german FAQ translation.
Me and Forseen have translated game to Latvian.
Updated Croatian translations, it should be done 100% in the next 48 hours.

Added new localisable strings for spectator and chat.
I've posted a few questions about some English entries in the google drive document... I don't mind posting them here if it is more comfortable for all of you...
Updated zh-CHS translation of new strings.
Added some it translation...
pepijs davaj hurry @latvian pls
ok
Perfected the new strings of the French localisation. Thanks to whoever did the job before me!

Little question: where is ChatEngine_AlreadyInMatch used?
Also, it would be nice to have this string available to localise: "You will no longer hear <>" appearing after having successfully ignored somebody with /ignore.

Updated polish to 100%.
Croatian is at 100%.
Updated Japanese, I left a row blank because I had no idea where it shows that message...
Updated Latvian to 100%

Fixed some russian stuff. I had to do that because my eyes were bleeding.
Does anybody know how to fix this? Lines are overlapping.

Topic Starter
For now, please make the lines shorter.
added a few more translations + edits here and there for chinese traditional
Ah, I wonder if this is intentional? The string is same as Options_Online_ChatIgnoreList_Tooltip's first sentence, it results in this anyway (shown while typing /help) :

So this feature has been implemented in the test build:

Apparently, FunSpoiler_BackgroundDim, FunSpoiler_Storyboard, FunSpoiler_Skin and FunSpoiler_Hitsounds are now used twice: in the visual settings popup and in the options menu.

Could it be possible to have seperate strings for both of these locations? One in the singular form for the VS and the other in the plural form for the options menu. Right now, it sounds weird in some languages to have the singular form used in the options menu while all of the beatmaps are concerned by the toggles.
Topic Starter
Added beatmap import strings.

@XPJ38 sure, done.
Great, thanks!
Also, you forgot to use FunSpoiler_Dim_Tooltip for this string here under the Graphics tab:

Btw, I suppose that "(maximum limit: {1}%)" in FunSpoiler_Dim_Tooltip isn't useful anymore now that everybody can dim BGs at 100%?
Topic Starter
Will fix that later.

Updated some russian localisation again. Looks a bit better.
Translated something in italian.

Will there be a possibility to translate some editor stuff? I know that some players can't deal with english language in it.
Just mentioning that Options_Graphics_Storyboards has been changed from "Show Storyboards" to "Storyboards" because of its new location in the options menu:

(the change has been not reflected yet)
Topic Starter
Yep, was hoping someone would catch that ;).

Eventually. At the moment, no one else is helping with the code side of localising, so it's up to me to fit in amongst the 10 billion other responsibilities I have. We'll get there eventually.
tiper
Ok-ok. Good luck with it.
I've started transalting Hebrew and I'll do as much as I can until I finish :)
Edit : Done with the first 41, I'll continue later
I did a full revision of the italian translation (fixing a lot of silly mistakes), completing it (game tab only) up to today's strings.
Regarding this string
[Line 545] Online:

Am I the only one having problems to make this string fit in my language? I believe it would be much easier if there were two different strings: one that is shown when YOU and displays all your friends who are ALREADY playing, and another one which is shown when a FRIEND has just logged in.
I don't see any problem with it. You can use another word if needed, like "Connected:" / "Disconnected:" like I did in French.
Yes, I've tried different things such as that one, but then the problem is gender and number, which don't match.

There are a lot of languages in the table which have left "online / offline" untranslated... guess I am not the only one having problems with that. I could do the same, but then I don't see the point of having that string available for translation.
I had the same problem but I made sure to combine singular/plural in a single word: "connecté" (sing.) and "connectés" (plur.) give "connecté(s)"; masculine by default but it's possible to add the feminine genre in a similar fashion.

Don't know if it is feasible in Spanish though, I just want to provide some way to by the problem :<
Updated Croatian.
Regarding "BeatmapImport_DetectedNewMapsAdded" and "BeatmapImport_DetectedMapsRemoved", I thought it would make more sense if there's a colon, becoming "Detected: new maps added" and "Detected: maps removed" instead of "Detected new maps added" and "Detected maps removed". What do you guys think?

(I know that they actually are the same, but as a non-native-English-speaker I initially find both string a bit confusing without colon)
That "detected" is a modifier for "new maps". If you place a colon there, you are changing the whole sense of that string.

Detected new maps added. (all the maps which have been detected by osu! have been added)

Minor fix for two lines which were overlapping another ones because of long length of some russian words.
Update some vietnamese translation. -=My2ndAngelic=-
peppy, these can't be translated, just thinking...
They can't be because they are not plain text but images.

Well can't i modify these image or something... i want to full translate osu! ^^
Updated Hebrew and made 25% progress :3
Sorry for not updating, I forgot about it.
Made some translations shorter for Latvian so strings don't overlap.
Also I'm curious why it says "latviešu valoda (latvian language)" and not "Latviešu (Latvian)" like all the other languages.
Finished changes for Spanish(ES) at 100%(Blue)!

Oooh, and it's at 75.74%. Maybe we finish next year?

Edit: Going to fix some parts, to convey full meaning of the original text from english.
Translated a new faq line in Italian, now 100% on faq ^^

Added one new line, updated localisations for next release.

It looks like there's gonna be a possibility to translate some parts of the website. I'll be ing it :)
Just finished the last 8% of the Dutch translation.
Went through every line and made the translations consistent (Three different translations for 'Game') and removed any spelling errors/typos.
But what's up with the self-promoting of the Dutch channel? It contained #dutch multiple times...

Also, osu! has a lot more text then I expected.

Nowhere near finished adding all localisable strings, either. The editor is going to be another big undertaking.
I reverted the document to a previous edit, an idiot deleted the game and web sheets.
What does this localisation thing do?

MiDNiGhT2903 wrote: 6x28u

So that you can see the proper in-game translation when selecting your preferred language in Option menu. ;)
I'll post it here, so everybody can see it:

!faq taiko-mapping is going to be outdated, the data in there was up to date back in 2010. Now, pretty much from the former guide is going to be covered by the new guide, and much has been added. I think it would be better adding the new guide instead.
I don't know what you guys think about this, post your opinions
Translated some important faq lines in Turkish
Fixed a small fail on german localisation t/166539
Has there ever been anything for Options_Graphics_Fullscreen_Tooltip? It's empty.

Btw new strings related to the new Options screen layout are available for translation.
Peppy, I've written an email to you about this topic. Please, check it.
link in OP seems to be down?
It not seems like it is down. I just want to talk directly to peppy. I can't ask my question here, sorry =(
wow

It's pretty bugged up, even thought the lines are still there
A new version has just been ed and finally included the new Dutch translation.
However I noticed a few pieces of text that were too long.
When rewriting the Dutch translation I didn't think it would be this noticeable.

Most of these issues could be solved by wording the text slightly different.
Before I do that I wanted to know if I should prioritize exact translation or a translation that still fits and looks good without being too big.
Keep in mind that whenever I change something like "Alles weerge.." I will change it everywhere for the sake of consistency.

Edit: Since no one responded I took matters into my own hand. Interpunction should be consisted across the board according to Dutch interpunction. Text that was too long has been shortened while still remaining it's original translation. Found some other silly translations I didn't find before which have been fixed as well. The Dutch translation should be near perfect now.

Edit 2: Osu!test has just been updated with the new translations. Extremely satisfied with the Dutch translation now. Everything fits nicely and is in proper Dutch. Consistency is also a lot better now.
somebody wroted something wrong, corrected.
