I had the resolution set to 2560 x 1600 (native) so that the quality is clear and crisp. However, when using my tablet, the higher I set the resolution the less space I have to move my cursor around. It seems like once I set my resolution to 2560 x 1600, my cursor can only move within the top quarter of the screen (using the tablet). Any way to fix this?

I was having an issue that no one else seemed to have where osu! would quit immediately and the logs would not open (or maybe they didn't exist). In addition, any Wineskin changes I made would reset the minute I left the menu. To solve this I had to remove the quarantine attribute (which prevented osu! from writing) from the osu! app with this command:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /path/to/osu!.app

I hope that helps anyone having the issue I was having, because it took me over a year to figure it out.

Thanks for that command. It seems a lot of people also can't get osu! to open and I suspect that they haven't managed to get rid of the quarantine attribute either.

Something to note when you , make sure that your osu! application is not in your iCloud Drive. My desktop is linked with my iCloud and when I tried to open it, would not open. Make sure to keep the file somewhere actually on your computer.

Probably some graphics issue.

If you accidentally turn it on in the future, right click on your osu! icon and hit "Show package contents" then go to "Contents > Resources > drive_c > osu!". Edit the file "osu!.pcname.cfg" in any text editor (TextEdit will do) and set the line CompatibilityContext equal to 0. Save the file and close the document and you should be able to start the game again.

pcname will be replaced with whatever the name of the on your computer is. If you have run the game successfully in the past, and you didn't intentionally delete that file, it will be in there. Just look harder.

Please read it carefully. The only thing it asks you to do is to replace the osu!.exe file which will not change any of your settings or songs.

So I am convinced it'll be updated on my end. I have done virtually anything. I'm just glad I got the game working again. I am a little sad, but thank you for your help. I appreciate it greatly.

The swap is equal to zero

This is unlikely but if the swap is zero then the system may freeze due to lack of memory. You have to enable the swap if this is the case.

Check for disk errors

It is strange that it only occurs after shutting down.

1. Open Disk Utility
2. Select Macintosh HD from the left
3. Press First Aid and then Run (the system will freeze momentarily several times)

The results will report on any errors if there are any.

Use a newer Wineskin wrapper

There are currently two Wineskins that are more updated than my own Wineskin (the February unofficial release). I don't know what Wine engine version yours has but they might be worth using as the Wine engine is likely to be far more up to date.

When I used the previous wrapper, it would freeze immediately, so I did not know the memory of Wine.

The bug went away when I changed the wrapper to something that peppy created.
In that case, the memory of wine is about 450 MB

I'm not trying to get more songs, so I don't know.

See the osu! or Wineskin will not open! section and follow the steps exactly.

After updating osu! yesturday, when I click to a beatmap (like on multiplayer) it opens my browser and does nothing, until a minute later it opens the site for it. This probably isn't your fault in any way, but would you happen to know what may be causing this, and how I may fix this? Many thanks.

Heya! hmm I'm kinda stuck with my osu app, the version I currently use is quite old and I needed to update it to play online but I tried to the feb (2018) release but it just doesn't starts I tried with everything that fit to my problem in the post but it just doesn't starts up

not sure if it’s just me, but discord rich presence isn’t working anymore. Every time I put discord-rpc.dll in the folder, it automatically gets deleted. Is there a fix for this?

Which Wineskin and what version of macOS are you using? The latest Catalina Wineskin should work without any significant issues.

I did. Reinstalled wineskin, used your OSU!Macos Agent and used the scan and fix thing, reinstalled osu! a couple times, nothing works. Still laggy and not full screened like normal. What should I do now? (I heard that osu! isnt completely compatible with High Seira which is what im using, but I don't think its because of that.).

I was referring to the Wineskin application not loading. Which Wineskin are you using? Can you clarify what setting you're looking for when you mean "fullscreen"? (there's a fullscreen mode option in the osu! settings) but I don't think turning fullscreen mode on would fix your lag issues.

You need to import using macOS Agent. See that forum thread of my latest Wineskin thread for details on how to import maps and skins.

Open Activity Monitor and search for osu!, wine, Wineskin, C:\, and kill any processes with those names in the process name

Hi! Thanks for the macOS builds that you've been working on for the past few years now!

Recently, I've noticed that I can't open replay files from the Replays folder. When I F2 a replay, it saves the file in the format

Suicune3 - An - Catanoph [Lavender's Extra] (2020-09-03) Osu-3.osr

However, it appears that I am no longer able to open the replay files anymore unless I change the file name to something like

Suicune3_-_An_-_Catanoph_Lavenders_Extra_2020-09-03_Osu-3.osr

Otherwise I get this error:

I would appreciate it if you had any solutions to fixing this as I was able to open replay files with any file name and the .osr extension prior to reing the Wineskin around early November.

Apologies for the late reply, I don't know why replay files have broken in the latest builds. If you enable "Automatically open replays from the s folder", it will handle the whitespace removal for you.

hello I suddenly started to flicker the cards it can be both at the beginning and at the end but it is impossible to play with this because the difficulty is also added to the flicker

Im playing on mac and I'm using osu agent to auto- maps but when I press fn+f5 nothing happens. I have the agent running in the bg too.

Oh no! I'm stuck in an update loop

If you are running Mojave wineskin and your game stuck in an update loop, try using CATALINA wineskin.

It fixed my issue.

when i play osu there are some times when horizontal black lines show up on my screen and then after that theres insane delay.

Hello, whenever I play a new beatmap, it always goes into the thing where osu plays for you. I reset all mods, but it keeps on happening. Is there a fix?

I have deleted osu and i cannot shut down/restart my mac. If i do a notification that says “osu!59797251Wine interrupted start”. even though i dont have the game anymore. Should i re and delete again??

I assume you have solved this problem now...? If not, open Activity Monitor, search for "Wine" and close any processes with that in the name.

This appears to be outdated. When navigating, I was unable to locate the "CaptureDisplaysForFullScreen" interactable.

Hi, I can't seem to edit my forum post, but Wineskin Winery has largely been replaced by the Unofficial Wineskin Winery now which you can here: https://github.com/Gcenx/WineskinServer/releases/tag/V1.8.4.2 under the Assets section (click Wineskin.Winery.txz and then extract it)

Does screen sharing osu in discord have no audio for you guys or is it just me?

I use a mac and everytime i double click osu to open it just doesnt, and ive tried restarting my computer and all that stuff and it didnt work. I still dont know what to do. if anyone has a solution please help me!

I am having issues with importing beat maps into Osu!. I have looked at the "A beatmap just won't import!" section and I think I am having a different issue. When I try to open the beatmap with osu I get a pop error saying: "There is no window program configured to open this type of file."

Please advise now what I should do.

while discord screen sharing, the audio doesn't work for the audiance. I tried resetting everything on discord and instead of all windows ss i used just ss-ing osu but the result was still the same no sound, plz help i also tried almost everything i could think of, when i switch to osu lazer however the ss works fine, but most of my friends play the original vers so yea.

Osu told me there was an Update, so I clicked new version. Now whenever I open osu, it tries to an update, tells me I am up to date, boots up the start up logo, but then never opens osu

i tried updating my wrapper but now when i try to launch osu it doesnt execute osu but rather opens the wineskin?

manually switch the gamemode by clicking the icon and move it to the gamemode you want. Also dont necropost old threads. make your own
