Simplified Chinese is translate complete~ :D
This approach is actually better I think. osu! localization v1 caused lots of inconsistency between different translations of the same language (eg. "Add to Favourites A" and "Add to Favourites B" translated differently)
Helping for making a Filipino translation ;)
Cool idea but also tricky.
On pTrans, people could vote for correct translations. Means the crowd decides which one is correct. Here you can simply override them.
How can you determine which translation is actually correct / better than other ones?

Anyway, translating / correcting a bit of german. :)
What happened?

What happened to Mongolian and some other countries translations?
They got deleted.
What we see now is probably a backup dating from some days ago :?

I restored Filipino and Mongolian translations from a backup of November 7 I have on my computer.
All the comments I put on SPANISH are now on POLISH... and most of my translations WERE REVERTED D:

Good job to the one who did this. Thanks...
Topic Starter
You can check revision history for previous changes.
added some hebrew translations, doubt it will help anyone but whatever.
i will continue when i have time

Really? I can't select the option.

(what's in red: "See revision history" in "File" menu)

It would be nice to revert back to the moment where everything was deleted :(
Serinu and I decided to localise osu! for Turkish players so we've done Turkish translation. When can we see it in game? Perhaps, next update?
Topic Starter
I reverted this last night to the correct state, in case anyone was wondering.

I am looking at moving these into the game today, for the next pbulic build.
I wanted to help with the spanish one, but it is already completed D: good work guys ^^
Just a reminder that line breaks are done in Google Docs by pressing Alt+Enter (also valid for Microsoft Excel).

Many translations do not have line breaks at all: Turkish, Hungarian, Mongolian, Czech, Slovak, Filipino, Polish, Korean, Dutch...
Topic Starter
I have added in the latest test build for this. The translations are still not on par with what we had before. This means there is room for improvement just by copying and pasting existing ones. Anyone with the time, please help out by filling in missing sections/langauges from the old resource files available here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16332218/translations.zip. Without this being compelted, we can't move forwards.

And please do note what XPJ38 said about line breaks. You will need to use alt-enter or ctrl-enter depending on your browser/OS to create a new line.

Update:

Languages not yet complete (using v1 translations still, see resource files):
Korean
Japanese
Dutch

Languages not yet added to v2 spreadsheet yet:
el
fi
pt
tl
I help in some little details on Spanish: Incomplete translations.
I check all and the other lines are fine.
... I've posted a note in Spanish translation: "please do not translate Show All as 'Mostrar todo' because it doesn't fit in the space given".

Well... somebody changed it in the last minute before the update and added a dot at the end.... whyyyyyyy????!!!!

/ragequit
I started the greek translation. It'll probably be completed during the weekend.
Chinese translations has been corrected.

Fixed several gramma mistakes
Add translations to "Language" & "Select Language:" as "语言" & “选择语言” based on other language's translation-styles.
Replace several express to a more suitable way.
Going through german versions and fixing stuff here and there
Finished the Norwegian translation(and added a small number of fixes to the Swedish one).
Feel free to go through and fix whatever I did wrong, such as bad flow or inconsistencies. It was all done in one sitting, though, so there shouldn't be as many of the latter, but you never know.
I am doing the Pt/BR translation, since I did not see anyone doing it :(
Copy-pasting from other thread...

I did some changes to the Indonesian translation.

Notably...
Original: "Show notification popups instantly during gameplay"
Wrong: "Peringatan akan ditampilkan jika teman online/offline" (literally: "Notification will be shown when friend is online/offline")
Correct: "Peringatan akan ditampilkan langsung dalam permainan"

----------

Original: "300g:{1} 300:{2} 200:{3} Bad:{4}"
Wrong: "300g:{1} 100:{2} 50:{3} Luput:{4}" (literally: "300g:{1} 100:{2} 50:{3} Miss:{4}")
Correct: "300g:{1} 300:{2} 200:{3} Jelek:{4}"

----------

Original: "All maps have been marked as 'Played'."
Wrong: "Tandai semua map sebagai 'Telah dimainkan'" (literally: "Mark all maps as 'Played'")
Correct: "Semua map telah ditandai sebagai 'Telah dimainkan'."

----------

Some fixes: "Tampilkan daftar orang yang menonton selama permainan." changed into "Tampilkan daftar penonton selama permainan." to prevent overlap. (It's better to say "spectators list" than "list of players who spectate", right? :P)

----------

And basically some minor typo and capitalizations.

I added some notes for Indonesian language as well, as it seems to be causing issues like overlapping issues and such. I need Indonesian players' suggestion about this. :?
To all translators: check Leeg's post up here. All the translated strings (except for tooltips) should be equal to or shorter than the original ones, otherwise they overlap interface elements.

I could help to do the #spanish Translation with Cristian, since everything is getting messed up =/

who was translated to russian language x<
idk who it was TicClick, is that you? owo but please fix some V (idk how to fix then i just leave it here)

some critics
firstly: score was translated uncorrect and its almost overlap with accuracy (get annoying really)
example: russian language have another good and small word which is the same in sense x<

secondly: where comes from these ,? and all of words here (circles sliders spinners objects) must be capitalized. but these are not x<

thirdly: http://puu.sh/1t8oe lold at this (missed almost two letters)

Updates have been propagated to osu! in the new build.
Does anybody know where can I see 'SongSelection_HasFriend' in context?

Thanks!

So... what's the point of that message? O_O
It tells you whether any of your friends are in the scoreboard page you're currently viewing.
Portuguese translation complete!
:)
Gratz Alust. :)
I wonder if "300g" in osu!mania is correctly understood by everyone?
"MAX" would be more appropriate since it is used in the web rankings and even the wiki.

Topic Starter
Please use "MAX" instead of 300g.
Righto.

I think that's supposed to be "Монгол хэл". Not Mongɣol kele.
Thanks.

Fixed them right after translations got updated, so everything should be fine now (except for these commas, because I didn't have any ).
Greek translation is completed.

Also, I'd appreciate it if the word 'Greek' in the language selection drop-down menu was changed to 'Ελληνικά'
Topic Starter
Changed greek in dropdown.
Topic Starter
Updated google spreadsheet style to be a bit more functional.
Korean translation is completed. (maybe... ;))

localisation is little fun :)

When is this work update osu?
The person who made Slovak translation was either polish or really challenged person with no understanding of english language. I would personally could make a perfect translation but I hate slovak osu! community so I won't.

Also updated polish translation a bit.

Alright so it seems that new messages are being added all the time. I'd rather wait until they're all there so I can do them all later. Approximately how many messages are left to translate?
Oh please... Is there a way to lock columns width?

And btw peppy, we cannot see what you're saying in the chat. In fact, we just see this:

but there is nothing in the chat if I toggle it.
Lol, just click there and you will see the full chat. It works to me.

I think he's already trying to fix that column width problem.
Like I said, there is nothing in it. Is this problem specific to me...?
And whaaaaat, now I cannot edit the spreadsheet anymore :(

Edit: wait, I got it. I have to be connected to see the chat contents. But I still can't edit the table.
with your google .

You can't edit the spreadsheet because peppy disabled edition.

Well by the quality of your english posts here on the forum I doubt you're capable of translating it and I feel really sorry for slovak community, even if it's a free translation, I don't think you should bother doing it, if your english is not on at least fluent level.

Oh and here's a little help.
Original
New backwards-compatibility renderer.
Runs about 90% performance of DirectX in general and does not yet have all graphical features implemented.
Only recommended if you experience bad lag or fps (or don't have shader ).
Your's
Nový kompatibilný renderer.Využíva 90% DirectX, nie sú implementované všetky grafické funkcie.Doporučujeme iba pri nízkom fps alebo lagoch (alebo ak nepodporujete shader model)
With your translation you're saying that OpenGL render is using 90% of DirectX renderer and the rest is something else, but the english sentence is saying that the OpenGL renderer has a performance of about 90% of DirectX.
Non-mongol translation for true slovak people.
Nový vykresľovač so spätnou podporou. Má zhruba 90% výkonnosť DirectX, ale nepodporuje všetky grafické možnosti. Odporučané len pri nízkych FPS a zásekoch, alebo chýbajucej podpore tieňovania.
Portuguese translation updated! :) :)
Saten and I are finished updating the Swedish translation.
Updated some spanish translations.
Updated French translation.

Btw, what are barlines in "Options_Gameplay_IgnoreBarline"? Also, where can I find "Options_TabGameplay" in the game?
Topic Starter
These are not finished / implemented yet.
Ok, but... what are barlines? I don't know how to translate that.
Topic Starter
horizontal lines in osu!mania that occur at the start of each musical bar (length).
Thanks.

Hi, I started to do Croatian translations and have them saved on my PC so when I'm done I'm thinking of just copying and pasting them into the table. I have a question. Do I simply add a new column to the table and name it Croatian etc. and just make it look like the other columns, the only difference being croatian translation? I'm not very familiar with google drive. Or I have to do something else first to make Croatian translations "functionable"?

Obys wrote: 24j3g

Please, before editing, check the comments on each translation, so that you make sure you are not spoiling translations which had been already fixed in other version. For instance, I've seen some changes that shouldn't have been done, because the text now doesn't fit in the screen.

Please, if you are not taking this seriously, I mean, checking in game context and reading everything, don't edit the document.

Also avoid literal translations, PLEASE.

I will add croatian for you now.

As a note to other translators, keep in mind you can test your translations by editing your language's txt file in the Localisation folder (in the odu! directory). You will need to restart osu! after making changes.

Any tips for easy copy&pasting from the spreadsheet to the txt?

I think I can do that with some regular expressions and ultra-edit or notepad++, but I was wondering if there was something easier.
Anyway, useful tips are not localisable yet in our osu! version.

Huh dude, I'm just saying the quality of your "translation" is lacking in various ways and and in some cases it's even misleading like with the example I've showed you, sure it''s "understandable" but I think peppy is aiming for an accurate translation, not some made up bullshit like you've showed us so far. Not to mention the grammar errors you've made in OUR mother tongue in said "translation". The sad thing is that the "Slovak community" here consists of Me, you, Pete guy and ibavnoci. I won't use nor need Slovak translation, but if you're going to represent Slovak translation here you should rethink the way you're translating it or just drop it.
There are more slovak players just you don't know about them because

is it s more translation (that not included in table ?)
Done with Croatian translation.

Done with Croatian translation.
Ran a quick check (I was actually working on this myself however some words always came out wrong haha, so didn't translate that much), and fixed some minor spelling errors (missing letters, certain wrong context and uppercase letters).

Nice job there, couldn't have done it this good myself.

Thanks for fixing it. It was late at night but I guess there is no excuse. :)

In-game translations have been updated. They should propagate over the next 24 hours to all clients.
Made the revision of the portuguese translation, most of it its well positioned but, some of them are mostly cutted because of the screen limit compared to the decreased number of characters on the original (english) version

could fix most of those ''bugs'', and would like to give a tip to translators:

on the offset one, be carefull to use ctr+space to make a paragraph, otherwise the text will continue and be cutted (too bad I only realized now...)

requesting a new update of localisation in-game ASAP

ps: Some of the texts are not yet on the doc to translate, like "You must to Bancho and be connected before playing online" or "Scores could not be retrieved" other example its on the options>online tab the "Automatically log private messages" doesn't have the translation itself neither the definition on it (when hover). There are more similar cases, but I guess you get the idea

Localisation is not yet complete on the game-side. It will continue to be added progressively.

Done with vietnamese translation. :D
Translated by many osu! player from Vietnam and re-check by me :D
Korean Translation is complete..

Many Korean players are glad to localisation project :)
I'll take care about Finnish translation now. I also fix some mistakes for sentences which was already translated, but I'll focus more to non-translated sentences. ^^

Good luck...
Just finished czech translation. I will try to get someone to re-check it for me, since some stuff like "unranked" is pretty hard to translate properly and its pretty late aswell. I will be glad if some of you, czech guys read this and can check it. Most probably there is a lot of diacritic missing since i dont use it. (I even had to install czech keyboard layout for this)

Also I did check the slovakian translation and some stuff there doesnt even make sense as Dasiel said(cant correct it myself since i dont speak that language properly).
Just to point a few out.
SPOILER

tohle je tip v hlavnim menu, jak na to ma asi nekdo kliknout?

What do FunSpoiler_Visual and FunSpoiler_Settings refer to? I thought it was refering to that:

It is, yes.
Well, the game doesn't translate them.

Small note to the translators: be careful when you translate those words, in some languages the noun comes before the adjective so you have to switch them if this is the case.

Sure, I've already changed the order of this in Spanish. :P

Btw, is the google document private now? :/
I can help with Lithuanian language localisation :)
wtf with the spanish transate...

I fix some stuff.
peppy, could you please post something in this thread each time there is a new sentence to translate in order to notify us, if it's not too much to ask? Translation is being slow now because nobody is informed :?

For the people reading this thread, here are the new sentences to translate:
  1. _Filter_Country ("Country")
  2. Options_ResetAllBindings ("Reset All Bindings")
  3. Options_ResetAllBindings_Confirm ("Are you sure you want to reset ALL bindings to defaults?")
  4. Option_Graphics_ShowUnicode ("Show unicode")
Topic Starter
Okay, I will from now on. Please subscribe to this thread.
Updated the croatian one, hopefully it's not off.
New lines to be translated:

Options_Online_LogPrivateMessages - Automatically log private messages
Options_Online_LogPrivateMessages_Tooltip - Enabling this option will automatically log all private messages sent and received to the Chat folder in txt format.
Options_Online_BlockNonFriendPM - Block private messages from non-friends
Options_Online_BlockNonFriendPM_Tooltip - You will not receive any private messages from s who are not on your friends list if this option is enabled.
Options_Online_BlockNonFriendPM_Toggle_On - You are now ignoring all private messages from everyone except your friends.
Options_Online_BlockNonFriendPM_Toggle_Off - You are no longer ignoring private messages from non-friends.
Bancho_NoFriendPMBlocked - {0} is currently blocking private messages from people not on their friends list!
"Prefer non-English metadata" is probably beyond understanding for at least 99% of the community. I am not even sure myself: is it the possibility to display the song title and song artist in their non-romanised version in the game (e.g. 初音ミク instead of "Hatsune Miku")?

I'd suggest to use a more explicit sentence, or to add a tooltip for better comprehension. Otherwise, because space is very limited here, are you okay if the translation takes up 2 or 3 lines? Like this:

(litterally "Display map titles in their original language when possible" - Imo the best translation when there is no tooltip)
I've translated that as: "Always show song data in its original language".
Finished up Croatian translations. I hope it's ok.
Could we have banchobot messages in this document too or in another new one? I'd like to correct some mistakes in its Spanish translation.

Edit: Nevermind, TicClick told me how to read all of them together, I'll correct them myself and will send them to #Spanish s.
Updated portuguese translation, some of the new lines were hidden among already translated ones
