Yep, like in the third song, where everyone will map to the vocals because the beat is extremely repetitive. What's the point on that?
First option isn't really an example of "you can variate" because it's the same song looped 4 times.

But I'm not complaining anymore.

The first one is actually looped 2 times. Surely if it's possible to map crossing field 6 times, it should be no problem to map this just twice?

1. You can Submit max 3 difficulties per song
2. Only osu! standard. ( Don't bother for the playability in the other modalities )

Please be aware that you shall not name your difficulties different than "Easy/Normal/Hard/Insane" to keep the judgement unbiased and anonymous.
Also be aware that this contest has three brackets tho it has three 1st places.
There won't be a winner among all songs . All songs can be considered as separated in judgement and therefore in prizing.

We usually call it Extra/Expert because of the X

It would be better to not map an Extra though, since there can be only 3 difficulties.

Highest difficulty is suggested to be Insane or Hard, but not Extra.

There's a few widely used naming conventions
Easy Normal Hard Insane Extra
Beginner Normal Hyper Another Extra

Insane is sometimes Lunatic in touhou maps.

Somehow I agree.
Mainly because I never able to map without background (imagine playing/mapping with solid, boring blue background) I can say backgrounds represent the visual for the song you played/mapped.

That huge mapset idea is pretty great For the first 2 or 3 places in each song, or all maps judges find good enough for rank.

Exactly. My exam session finishes at 29th, so working for the contest would result in loosing scholarship.
I didn't even try to finish anything because I knew I won't be able to participate.
Not like I'm asking for an extension, just saying that the dates were not the best choice.

Just by looking at the amount of submissions I say the deadline should be extended. Only 13 sets for all 3 songs, with only 2 submissions for Rooftop Run.

The submission count is awfully low... not sure if people are able to finish the sets in time. If the submissions are really low at the end, maybe consider extending the deadline?

I'd extend it by about a week or so. If people can't work within a specified time frame, then that brings their own ability and commitment into question. Of course, if there've only seen a bunch of subpar, rushed efforts, then that's more than enough of a reason to extend the deadline. I wouldn't want to see a half-hearted pile of dross winning the contest by proxy.

The deadline in the OP is still 24 hours later...

The amount of submissions will probably raise right before the deadline, but still - I don't expect it to be any good frequency anyways. I wanted to map all the 3 songs but I simply had no time to map 3 full sets of forced songs in the given time, same as a lot of people present here. I think people should've been given time to at least try participating in all the categories, because making a good beatmap takes a lot of it.

I propose moving it to at least Tuesday 0:00 GMT so we at least have the weekend. And yes, Tuesday, not Monday, to ensure that those of us in the Americas have the entire weekend (including the wee hours of the morning).

I have started to map one of these songs. Considering that not even one diff is finished and that I'm also interested in mapping another song, an extension would be really great.

I've almost completed the hardest diff, but there's still a pretty difficult part to map left... Not to mention other 2 diffs. It's not very doable in this small amount of time left. And that's why moving the deadline is very important

I was ing the extension, but this is a very valid point...

The deadline is more than 1 day... they had 1 full day to prepare their maps, no need to rush unless paranoic.

I've mapped one full set and almost finished the second one, I'd like to have some time for the third as well...

The fact remains that almost a whole month has ed, if someone hasn't finished a single map in that time i'm pretty sure they've procrastinated it a lot, which would still mean that it's unfair towards the other people who mapped it in time

Seriously, if you didn't finish in time YOU DIDN'T.
It's not like if rushing for one more week you will finish a GREAT mapset.
People had already 3 weeks before.

If you ask me, asking for a time extension is totally unfair to the people who already turned in their works. If it happens to get extended, those people who submitted should somehow be notified and all the maps that were submitted should be erased so people can polish their works if they want to, before submitting again.

An extension until the end of the weekend wouldn't be *too* unfair - that's what, just an extra day or two? - but yeah, anything more than that would be kind of crazy.

ztrot, this is why you don't temporarily extend deadlines without consulting certain people first. As you can see, you opened up a whole can of worms.

Extension by 1 day gives like nothing. I agree with Andrea here, one additional week would be fine atleast for me.
After all, isn't it better when more people can participate and make their submissions? It's isn't owc when there's a lot of difficulties gathering teams at a certain time.
And by the way it's already pretty difficult to make a full high quality mapset within a month even if you don't have other important stuff to do, let alone 'contest' quality

@Kert: Personally, I would've loved it if ztrot hadn't undone the extension. Just saying if he had never done that then this extension discussion likely would never have taken off.

^Yeah, I'd like it if this was done.

I think an 'Elite Mapper' would be able to finish a map in time IMO.
