Wow, you barely read his complaint and is already saying unnecessary things that don't add to the thread. What a mess.Loctav wrote: 5b1v22
Wow, you didnt even start mapping and you already complain. What a mess.
Yeah but if you actually listen to it or play it you can tell that 145 BPM isn't proper. It's theoretical versus reality.TheGrimOfCrazy wrote: 27j4j
In the editor the song was timed as "144.993" BPM. How lazy can you get. This song is created by a computer. It's 145 bpm but it seems like whoever retrieved this song was too lazy to get a correct encoded version.
Artists don't just put decimal bpm. Especially 3 places out.
Disregarding the song itself (I haven't actually checked it), you're wrong about this at least. It isn't that uncommon for electronic music to use BPMs like 120.5, not to mention that any DAW worth its salt will have access to fine tempo adjustment to at least three decimal places to be used at the artist's discretion. It does happen and can't really be considered an error.TheGrimOfCrazy wrote: 27j4j

Didn't spot this when reading that post, but this is correct. IIRC even the Pokemon devs sometimes use some really... weird... timings.Jarby wrote: 551y2t

Also, anecdotes from randoms in #modhelp effectively saying "wow that's odd" doesn't prove that the timing is incorrect. Moreso, if you actually knew what you were talking about, you would probably realize that it would also be incredibly unlikely for the tempo to be altered in this manner by an encoding error as you suggested.

By the way, the songs need a bit more variation. Most of them are really repetitive and are just the same beat over and over.I have the latter feeling.Blue Dragon wrote: 42171m
unless you're trying to see who makes a less boring map out of that song
Yep, like in the third song, where everyone will map to the vocals because the beat is extremely repetitive. What's the point on that?_tear wrote: 4d4d6n
Beat is not the only element of a song you can map.Blue Dragon wrote: 42171m
It was just a comment about the songs. Why feel offended like that?

1. You can Submit max 3 difficulties per songAwesomez53 wrote: 3b3a2p
I got a question.![]()
1.Can each song have more than 3 difficulties?
2.Does 3 difficulty must have osu standard mode and then the other difficulties can have different game modes?(Catch the Beat, Taiko or osu mania)
If each question is answered, THANK U!
Actually, one of the most important thing is the spread:Andrea wrote: ev47
It would be better to not map an Extra though, since there can be only 3 difficulties.
Highest difficulty is suggested to be Insane or Hard, but not Extra.
Somehow I agree.Anoky wrote: 292g1p
Rule #5 directly contradicts rule #1. Having a background is part of the ranking criteria.
That spread would be terrible, you know that, right?HakuNoKaemi wrote: z6c2f

Extra + something between Normal and Hard + Easy(EASY, though it's tough to map it in some of those songs XD), is a good spread for all abilities

Extending would be cool, because some of us are having exam session right from the end of May till the end of June (the last exam is exactly on the 22th)
I never understood why such contests/owc are never held in some other time like july/march/october when there's nothing important happening (atleast here)
Just my 2cents
Exactly. My exam session finishes at 29th, so working for the contest would result in loosing scholarship.Kert wrote: 2b4n2o
