It isn't that uncommon for electronic music to use BPMs like 120.5, not to mention that any DAW worth its salt will have access to fine tempo adjustment to at least three decimal places to be used at the artist's discretion. Also, anecdotes from randoms in #modhelp effectively saying "wow that's odd" doesn't prove that the timing is incorrect. Moreso, if you actually knew what you were talking about, you would probably realize that it would also be incredibly unlikely for the tempo to be altered in this manner by an encoding error as you suggested.

By the way, the songs need a bit more variation. Most of them are really repetitive and are just the same beat over and over.
First option isn't really an example of "you can variate" because it's the same song looped 4 times.
But I'm not complaining anymore.

Mainly because I never able to map without background (imagine playing/mapping with solid, boring blue background) I can say backgrounds represent the visual for the song you played/mapped.

There's a big lack of difficulties that way, if you would do that.
It would be quite a waste to let the maps go unnoticed or having to rank them separately.

I never understood why such contests/owc are never held in some other time like july/march/october when there's nothing important happening (atleast here)

I didn't even try to finish anything because I knew I won't be able to participate.
Not like I'm asking for an extension, just saying that the dates were not the best choice.
I'd extend it by about a week or so. If people can't work within a specified time frame, then that brings their own ability and commitment into question. Of course, if there've only seen a bunch of subpar, rushed efforts, then that's more than enough of a reason to extend the deadline. I wouldn't want to see a half-hearted pile of dross winning the contest by proxy.
The amount of submissions will probably raise right before the deadline, but still - I don't expect it to be any good frequency anyways. I wanted to map all the 3 songs but I simply had no time to map 3 full sets of forced songs in the given time, same as a lot of people present here. I think people should've been given time to at least try participating in all the categories, because making a good beatmap takes a lot of it.

Seriously, if you didn't finish in time YOU DIDN'T.
It's not like if rushing for one more week you will finish a GREAT mapset.
People had already 3 weeks before.
If you ask me, asking for a time extension is totally unfair to the people who already turned in their works. If it happens to get extended, those people who submitted should somehow be notified and all the maps that were submitted should be erased so people can polish their works if they want to, before submitting again.
