WHITE ALBUM2

same places i looked up, but i wasn't sure if that was the same song or the map was a different song from the game

well someone else agree, thanks

i can't tell because he didn't put tags indicating whether it was anime or game, but he said it's from the game and provided cd proof

now i still don't know
Aka , Kyubey thanks for checking the metadata . I will tell to mapper /w\
Hey, everyone!

I'm having a hard time looking for any metadata source as the song is really old. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out with this!

I found a site about The Real Group : http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/52ec ... d005fccbb3 there's the music too but I didn't found any source
Okay, I've found this.

Their official site refers to this site. Title by er is Chili Con Carne and 90% of the stores list the song as Chili Con Carne, too. So, I believe that it's the correct metadata.

Since there is nothing more reputable and no better official links, this will do, I hope.

Thanks for your quick reply, ByBy_ChAn

It's not.
Hardwell & Joey Dale - Arcadia (feat. Luciana) [Radio Edit]

Too many different ways to place Luciana in the metadata according to different websites ;w;
https://www.djhardwell.com this site shows Hardwell & Joey Dale feat. Luciana - Arcadia.
http://www.joeydalemusic.com/Releases.html this site shows same. And cover on it too.
But track on official label channel named as Hardwell & Joey Dale Ft. Luciana - Arcadia (Radio Edit). So track title is Hardwell & Joey Dale feat.(or Ft., or ft., or ft, not sure about it) Luciana - Arcadia (Radio Edit).
I already posted on the thread before noticing these posts oops. I'm pretty sure the answer I came to is the best one.

wtf is Scorpio music Hardwell and related sites never mention them at all.. the proper publisher is Revealed Recordings. :?

The Joey Dale one is at least a proper source lol, which leads to the same conclusion.

Hey guys can someone help me to find the correct title of this song (GLaDOS & Jonathan Coulton - Still Alive) I have found something but I'm still not sure about it since there are not a valid source in nowhere.
Topic Starter
Moved some of the inactives to the retired section of the post. Don't bother those guys unless its a necessity (they are pretty much afk for the most part anyway).

On the flipside, if you believe you can help out with clarifying metadata often and consistently; feel free to post here or forward your name to me and I can add you to the OP!

Major thanks to Gamu and Lanturn for continuing to provide assistance in the realm of Japanese metadata and otherwise

http://vgmdb.net/album/6194 if you look at the scans, it has credits on page 3.

http://puu.sh/haNly.jpg
Jonathan Coulton (featuring Ellen McLain as the voice of GlaDOS)

the official valve store doesn't have the listing or the soundtrack anymore. an archive search brought up this:
https://web.archive.org/web/20090429075 ... track.html

So there you have it. The only official metadata I could find is what I listed above.
The game credits don't really help. They just use Jonathan Coulton and that's it: https://youtu.be/nfRlrV8awo0?t=3m15s

Edit: Cleaned up my post a bit.

well, artist is Chris Kirkpatrick but the song is not in his discography and only used in television series by the fictional character Chip Skylark. And there is no OST or anything this kind of sort.
So here's the question, should we use some kind of Chip Skylark (CV:Chris Kirkpatrick) reference: t/288835&start=0 or just stay with Chris Kirkpatrick?
well. if you wanted to. you could use the credits shown in the opening. If you wanted to list both, then maybe use Chris Kirk as Chip Skylark or something. I think it's reasonable enough anyways. I also don't really see any harm in just using Chris. Depends how correct you'd want to be.

There's also this in the credits below. Note the song is all capitalized. So yeah.... =/

I'm assuming these are the people who wrote the song. Probably should put them in the tags.

Not much else I can help you with here. I did a little browsing and came up with nothing. No official writing/soundtracks like you mentioned.
I was using this as a reference to everything above.

That's all I can really do to help. Sorry it isn't an actual answer.

we are pretty confusing now about this map's source.. it's hard to find about first appearance game source.

Did you check here? Please see the third track
So it should be Laura Pausini - Primavera In Anticipo (It Is My Song) - Duet With James Blunt i guess because the whole title is in capital on official website
It's very confusing if Artist and Title don't get properly segregated ><
I'd say the title is Primavera in anticipo (it is my song) - duet with James Blunt (I believe the capital letters should stay as they were in the web site)

I just want to qualify this, and need some clarification on that mapset. I still confused and not sure about the source since the song is from EZ2ON (I mean its version) while the original is from Ez2Dj 7th Trax ver. 1.5. Well, a bit confusing since there's no official thing for this game. Thank you!

Not sure about artist, is it allowed to have circle ft. singer? happy30's words are «instead of only surufit or mei ayakura i want to list them both as artist, because they are both awesome and even better together», but is it really allowed?
Arranger of that piece is Hiratake from Aftergrow though, not sure about that
Well, main question is about is that allowed to have such a type of artist or no, but thanks for checking. Summoning some QAT to here to clarify that thing, because doujin artists always confuse me.
The circle's website seems to have some error as well, doesn't really help in checking lol
Let me throw in my opinion.

The actual name of this circle is Studio “Syrup Comfiture”. Syrufit stands for it. (Studio “Syrup Comfiture”)
According to this CD scan (Track No.09), apparently the arranger of this song is 平茸(Hiratake in romaji) not Syrufit.
Therefore the current artist is completely incorrect.

RankingCriteria wrote: 5l1772

Tracks created by composers belonging to doujin circles should list the circle's name as the main composer. The sole exception to this is when a composer of a given circle is well-known enough by their own name. In this case, their own composer name may be used instead.
I'm not sure how well-known 平茸/Hiratake is, but if I were the map owner, I'd use the circle name as the artist because it's the first time for me to see his name.

unicode Studio “Syrup Comfiture”
romanization Studio "Syrup Comfiture"

Hi, needs help with title

https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/194910

MP3 here was edited by LKs, so we can't keep title same as original song. HW suggested to name it as ESTi - HELIX (LKs Edit ver.), but is it would be fine? Or should we ask LKs as person who edited this?
If a song, when edited, got just shortened/extended, there's no reason for title/artist change/adding.

Hello,

https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/172788

The artist and title are not quite right from what I've searched. iTunes shows Owl City - Beautiful Times (feat. Lindsey Stirling), the official music video in YouTube shows Owl City - Beautiful Times (ft. Lindsey Stirling), and some websites show Owl City - Beautiful Times (featuring Lindsey Stirling) and more. The official website doesn't show the tracklist of the EP (Ultraviolet) that contains this song (which is quite weird). Should I go with iTunes? It's kind of "official".

Hello, I got some information about this song.
Official use the "feat." in jacket and video title (youtube) and itunes.

official video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNYKVbIqYqY
itunes: https://itunes.apple.com/jp/album/beautiful-times-feat.-lindsey/id848215574

According to this powerful information, the following Artist and Title would be good. I think so.
Artist: Owl City

I have no scans/official source (site seems to not like to publish them) for the Japanese title, but it's actually correct.

As for the English name, it should be changed to "Brendan". Outside Japan, album has only been released on iTunes, so yeah.
Source: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/pokem ... d951849989 (Track 75).

Title: Yuuki / ユウキ

Go Ichinose / Ichinose Go are interchangeable. So the artist is fine. However, remove the space between 一之瀬 and 剛

The English 'iTunes' title is: Brendan (add it to the tags anyways since this is his theme.)

Source:
Japanese:
ポケットモンスター オメガルビー・アルファサファイア -> http://puu.sh/hFgFd.png

Add Pokemon to the tags (Since Pokémon is in the source) and whatever source isn't used.

I think that's everything. XD
Thanks a lot guys.

I'm almost sure the artist is correct, but not really sure about the title and how the artist is written. Please ;_;

seems like the romanization is a little different in the English credits themselves. I suppose we should use them like they are listed in-game?
Personally I'd just comma seperate them, much like we were doing with Souzou Diary and other long artist names where they are in a list. Usually the 'and' is never included, especially in the Japanese side of things. It's usually "to" or "&"

This is how I would personally credit it with the information we have. It's the best option when dealing with 'lists'
Edit.. I noticed the names were all backwards. Let me fix this. ffffffffff me ok fixed..

Just a quick question regarding romanisation of metadata from a Russian VN - Any thoughts on the correct source for this map: https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/275841 ?

I'm just wondering whether it should be the English title of the VN (Everlasting Summer), the Russian title (Бесконечного лета) or its Romanised title (Beskonechnoe leto).

Official site is here: http://everlastingsummer.su/en/

@Alarido
Since you got lost, here's the link to the music page from the first season.
http://yuruyuri.com/1st/music/index.html

ゆるゆり is fine as the source. I recommend it since Yuru Yuri has been romanized in a million different ways.

Artist field:
The romanized should be fine. It's technically not wrong and it matches up to the other ranked mapsetz (ha ha ha)

Title:
The romanization could be one of a million different things, but we might as well be consistent and keep it the same as the other sets since they aren't wrong.

So all the BD discs have released a TV Size version. However, these TV Versions include a Student Council version. I'm assuming those that have seen Yuru Yuri know who those four people are. So we can't use this.
The other BD discs have solo acts (2 per disc) of the various characters. Akari version etc.

So basically in the end, there's a TV Size, but not one for the 七森中☆ごらく部 version as silly as that is.

So in other words. The metadata should be fine. one could argue to include TV Size but there technically isn't a track for it listed anywhere, so it'd be safest to not include it.

That's about it. maybe TV Size for tags, and then the characters like Akari. I suggest using Setz's mapsets for tag references, and include as needed.
https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/b/679084 is a good one.

Hope this helps >_<

The artist is a human, like Hanatan and other more utaite, and not any VOCALOID. So the name of the singer, KK, should go in the artist field. The title looks fine, and it doesn't seem to come in any animes because there's a fade out at the end of the track. Which this is probably the mapper that did it. This mapset can be an example.

In conclusion, metadata looks fine. The tags would need more words, like the composer ヘブンズP , Heavenz-P, utaite, and other similar words that should go with the song.
sheela is right

btw, title should be Sore ga Anata no Shiawase to Shite mo, cuz you know, the caps.

I would just like to give a note to all, that having the singer as the artist isn't always the case, and it's dependant on the song at hand.

This Song comes from the album STAGES. The artist is Heavenz feat.KK
http://stageslive.jp/

https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/298219

The title has the correct words, but I don't think the capitalization and grammar stuffs are right. According to this Wikia it's Livin a Double Life, and in Wikipedia it's instead Livin' a Double Life (with the apotrophe). I tried to search it in the credits of an episode of The Thundermans, but no luck.

In English the g in some words that ends with that letter can be replaced by an apostrophe. So the last title is correct to me, but I want to know if someone can find the metadata or agree which title is best.

EDIT: I guess it's okay now.
Hey, it's me again, someone could help me to find the correct metadata of this song? I'd really appreciate it so much if you guys help me with it, thanks in advance.

Please look at this post: p/3817771
It is the correct title if the same song.
About artist, senya or 幽閉サテライト

Also this song has been added in SDVX. http://p.eagate.573.jp/game/sdvx/sv/p/booth_contents/contents_21/contents_21_05.html
If he uses a sound source of SDVX,
Artist: 幽閉サテライト feat. senya
Romanised Artist: Yuuhei Satellite feat. senya
Title: 色は匂へど散りぬるを
Romanised Title: Iro wa Nioedo Chirinuru o
Source: SOUND VOLTEX BOOTH

This is entirely just my own personal opinion.
SDVX should not be the source and added as tag instead. Since it is a touhou remix , the real source (unless this is a remixed version only for SDVX) must be : 東方Project

But I guess both work, because there are already "conflicts" with source between ranked maps like :
LeaF - Calamity Fortune and they come from the same place. (BMS charts)

That's my opinion.
Hello, I am about to check this map and I have some metadata problem.
For the title "Honey♥Come!! (TV size)", there is an "♥" between Honey and come, we though this was correct to use space between until the new qualified map https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/334447 uses "*"
I couldn't find any romanised information of the title on the official website anywhere.
http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime/dande/disc/cd1.html
Can someone help me? Thanks!
Well as I can see , this is the japanese title: Honey♥Come!! (TV size)

And the romanised title must be Honey*Come!! (TV size) because on romanised title field you cannot put '♥' nor '☆'.They're replaced with '*' in romanised title field. I hope I helped you
I personally think using a space to replace the character is fine.(I prefer space not "*" because “*” would be an extra character that's not provided by official.)
Basically what Fycho said.
By the way, the reason why Japanese people replace ☆ with * is, asterisk stands for a small star.
As for the qualified map mentioned by Kuo_Kyoka, it should be fixed imo.

EDIT:
@Kuo_Kyoka: Tell the mapper to add the romanized anime title to Tags (joukamachi no, dandelion is already added). It will help people search the map.

EDIT2:
I'd recommend discussing if it's DQ worthly in #nominators first before DQing it just in case.
There are a few maps that use asterisks to represent various characters that otherwise can't be somewhat converted properly. If we knock out hearts, then we should probably knock all of these symbols out. Either or works, but it's never been a DQ issue from what I .

So in short. The asterisk is meant to represent a character the romanised field won't accept.

Some examples of * uses
https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/b/519007 with →

idk, my two cents. We kind of had a similar discussion with omitting interpuncts and such too. There are of course, maps that ignore ♥'s and other symbols as well. So it's pretty inconsistent.
Talked with Fycho in game. My two cents anyways.

I think it's better to use "*" to represent characters that can't convert properly. Using a space " " as Fycho suggests, and using * only for representing ☆ seems kind of odd to me. The goal of metadata is to give as much credit as possible to the original source. That's why we see maps being dq'ed even for incorrect capitalization. Using a space pretty much makes it seem like there isn't even a special ≠ or ♥ or × present in the title at all because Players will only see "Honey Come." If we use an asterisk * to represent these characters, it at least acknowledges the fact that there's supposed to be a special character in the title, but due to osu!'s current limitations, cannot be displayed properly.

Basically, if all we do is use a space to represent non ☆ (star) characters, for people looking at the title it'll seem like the special character was never there to begin with. Putting a * at least acknowledges the character's presence even if it cannot be properly displayed.
I'd like to stick to the ranked versions just for the consistency in the list of official osu! beatmaps.
When searching mentioned songs above by Lanturn, their romanized titles with * are 99% (not 100% because I might have missed something. Sorry for my laziness not to check search results carefully..) shown by osu!. This means it's not common to replace characters such as →♡ with *. Indeed to give as much credit as possible to the original source is the one of important things which everyone agrees with, but to not make people misunderstand something is more important at least imo. (= Using * to replace characters such as →♡ makes people misunderstand there is ☆ in the title)

By the way, "Honey Come!!" is shown in the description on youtube video uplaoded by KING RECORDS.

EDIT: Wait, I didn't notice the map got DQ'd/bubbled lol nvm this post
Thanks everyone for the help :)
The correct title is: Honey Come!! (TV size)
Looks like we decided not to use asterisks for symbols?

Makes sense I guess since the asterisk actually gets removed while searching anyways.
I'd like to discuss a question about the metadata of a map belong to me.
map: https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/212091
It was a bug caused map with too long artist can't be ed successfully. It was be confirmed, more details can be found in t/309634/.
As we see that bug can't be fixed in soon, but I don't want to see my map just lying in graveyard, so this time I want to discuss if too long artist that lead to failed can be simplify?
This simplification base on still can let player know artist is what, like this map, if we can use "u's" or "Pile, Mimori Suzuko, Nanjo Yoshino" instead of what be suggested in dq post?

alacat wrote: 1qva

Romanised : Nishikino Maki (CV.Pile), Sonoda Umi (CV.Mimori Suzuko) & Ayase Eri (CV.Nanjo Yoshino)[/list]
I think we can remove the anime character name If the artist name is too long.
Recent examples:
https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/346207
https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/338414

So,
Artist: Pile, 三森すずこ, 南條愛乃
Romanised Aritst: Pile, Mimori Suzuko, Nanjo Yoshino
Shouldn't that be considered as a "New Rule" discussion?
Yes I agree with Gamu, the rest of artist are unnecessary which causes long-artist bugs, Pile, 三森すずこ, 南條愛乃 already expresses the artists properly. I think we can make this as an exception for the map.

Hello everyone, i would like to discusses about this metadata of this map: https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/381888
The mapper (so does me) is confusing about the romanji title and artist of this map, we don't know which is the correct one
Thank you in advanced!
Let me post my quick opinion as it seems like a no-brainer to me.

The artist should be fine as he calls himself that on his twitter, website etc. Search him with "桜華P ohka" and you will find his stuff.
As for the title, Reimu is the most possible romanised title imo (more like I have no idea how it's read other than Reimu). Well, I'm 10000% sure the current one is incorrect.
Hello there, I have a question about romanization of title in one of my sets.

The set: https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/b/829077

So, the original title has been confirmed already (source), it's トゥー・チー・チェン シークレットカクレンジャー TEKINA Remix
The question I have tho is how should it be romanized? I've asked Loctav about it and:

so I'd be thankful if someone Japanese of fluent in Japanese would confirm that for me.
I think "トゥー・チー・チェン" means "都志见(dou1 zhi4 jian4)", and it is the Chinese pronunciation.

http://www.jcdic.com/search.php?pagenum=14&up=1&lang=&searchtext=%E9%83%BD

Unfortunately I cannot read the Chinese, so I don't know correct romanization....
shionelove brought up a good point in the thread (https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/forum/p/4842049)
The トゥー・チー・チェン is the "artist",都志見 隆's another name, we just happened to misunderstand the soundcloud title due to not knowing Japanese and thought that's just title and artist is labeled as DJ'TEKINA//SOMETHING when it was both original artist and title in the song name. Due to that I've changed the artist and title accordingly and that should be correct now.
Yea, what shionelove said makes sense.
Also, I have an opinion on the romanisation of the artist. How about just romanising it as "Tou Chi Chen"? As the name is replicating a Chinese name and Chinese people normally have their Chinese names translated without hyphens, e.g. 姚明 > Yao Ming or 劉翔 > Liu Xiang.

Thanks for the ! It's all good now.

The original song title is,
Unicode: とある小国のお姫様が、会ったこともない兄の家にやってきて住みついた事情。
Romaji: Toaru Shoukoku no Ohimesama ga, Atta koto mo nai Ani no Ie ni Yattekite Sumitsuita Jijou.

Some of you guys might realize what I'd ask here..
Apparently the mapper, Lami can't the map due to BSS error that says the title is too long. For now, the map has been submitted with the omitted title, Toaru Shoukoku no Ohimesama ga... However since we have never experienced the error caused by the title, I'm also unsure if it's allowed.

How do you think we should handle this?
The limitation of osu! is going to stand for a while, so we can only get rid of the error by altering the title, something similar to the Artist.

Ways that can shorten the title is either deleting or paraphrasing the title to something with fewer characters. The latter method seems conflicting with the ranking criteria to a greater extent. So, what I suggested several days ago to Lami was submitting the title before the "、", on both Unicode and Romanised Titles. Is it a sentence fragment or does it make sense if we cut it half? Any other alternatives? As I can hardly think of some other ways to make it shorter because of my superficial knowledge of the Japanese language.
Oh I didn't know you talked with him. Well I also can't think of other ways to make the title shorter other than cutting it like you said.
The title shortened by cutting the original half is "お姫様が、/Ohimesama ga," which is just the subject (= It's a sentence fragment, yes). However since it includes the particle がput after the subject, at least we Japanese can easily understand that it's a part of the sentence.
In conclusion, I'd say the current title "お姫様が... / Ohimesama ga.." should be the best.

I'm not the one who can make a decision. However if there is no objection, I'd tell the mapper and other BNs who will check the map that the current title is fine.

Thanks for your quick response, KwaN.
I have an inquiry about the suffixes of songs.

Note: All the screenshots are from official sites.
  1. https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/410476

There is a typo in this screenshot, the title should be Melty Moment (having a space in between) according to this from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDVQlY7A2ig or this from http://www.ceui.jp/disco/.
Do we use "Melty Moment short.ver" or "Melty Moment" as the Title?

  2. https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/390807

"言葉のいらない約束" or "言葉のいらない約束 TVサイズ? Probably we won't use the title from iTunes, レコチョク & mora, as they aren't official.

  3. https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/162996

"killy killy JOKER" or "killy killy JOKER TV size"?
I hope a conclusion can be drawn so that we do not hesitate to use suffixes for songs in these cases. Thank you!
Suffixes should be used as it's provided by the official site, and we already add these suffixes after title sometimes.

1. Melty Moment short.ver
2. The official its releases from iTunes, レコチョク & mora, so all are fine. And https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/313239
3. killy killy JOKER TV size

Just my thoughts.

I do agree we can use suffix for all the above maps.

However, for the second song, which suffix (言葉のいらない約束 TVサイズ or 言葉のいらない約束(TV size)) do we prefer? Do you mean if the official websites link iTunes, レコチョク or any other similar sites, the suffix should be treated as official? That means Amazon is acceptable too.

https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/313239 - This map actually has a wrong metadata, there's no space in between.
Yes, 言葉のいらない約束 TVサイズ and 言葉のいらない約束(TV size) both are acetable imo, it's not a reason to dq such stuffs.

If official site provides other sites, then these title are all choosable.

Any objection on this? As it's a fresh concept that I have never heard of, probably different from or even contradicted to the standard of official references we quoted in the past.
You can't really measure the official-ness of a site. If both sites are official, but their metadata differs, you should be able to use either one because in both cases you would be quoting from an official source. Whichever you choose, you will misquote from the other source, and saying one source is more accurate than another is often subjective.
We are not measuring the official-ness of a site, we are simply determining if a site is official or not. It is a yes-or-no question, instead of a quantitative issue.
Everything found on official sites is acceptable as the metadata of the song. So, we are discussing whether iTunes or Amazon is official.
For your information, the reason why we did not treat them as valid official references is p/3341872 .
As much as possible, refrain from using information from shops as much as possible, unless totally impossible to obtain elsewhere, like no official post or page elsewhere, even a forum post from the artist or something as official as that would be better.
Official website/CD prints gets priority here. Online shops tend to alter them for aesthetics/description purposes mostly.

But it should be noted you can't take official websites literally. For KwaN's last example, it should be easy to note.

Is the second song called "realize -夢の待つ場所- Full size & TV size"? No, it just means the song is present in both Full size and TV Size. That's how brackets should be interpreted. It doesn't tell you the exact title.
CDJapan made me laugh with this haha

Almost forgot about this thread.

About this map (Bubbled already), I am not sure about the romanisation of the title.
  1. According to alacat and Satellite, the romanisation should be Iro wa Nioedo Chirinuru o.
  2. According to Wafu, the romanisation should be Iro wa Nio e do Chiri Nuru o.
Does anyone have any idea how 色は匂へど 散りぬるを should be romanised?

I got an answer already, please let me know if you have interest in it.
