Yep they are scary but if you still wanna use it, to use diskio.sparse_files (and prepare for extreme fragmentation) and as well enable diskio.flush_files to prevent RAM getting filled by Windows if you are using the latest BitTorrent or uTorrent.

yep there are
Pack 1-330 (one big RAR)
Pack 1-200 (individual packs)
Pack 1-300 (individual packs)
Packs 301-370 aren't packed into one unless if they are in 100s

O.O did you extracted the .osz file as well? You are doing it wrong.....
The correct way is extract all .rar beatmap packs to /path/to/your/osu!/folder/Songs then launch osu! (if you didn't open it) or press F5 (if you have opened osu!).
DON'T MANUALLY EXTRACT THOSE .OSZ FILES YOURSELF! DOING THAT MIGHT CAUSE SOME ISSUES (like yours)

No, I only extracted the rar file. This is the content of the rar file.

It's fine, I got it now. It was just anime pack 1. It extracted zip files within the rar for whatever reason. The others extracted just the osu files.

when using winrar or other likewise software you can extract via drag and drop. but if it still extracts all within as well then you have to check your settings!

Thanks! This is awesome! Since my speed is only 150kbps I will seed every pack I currently play. When I finish and a new one I will quit seeding last one and seed the new one instead.

Probably BitTorrent blocking? I hosted away from my home because of the exact same problem (and it only allow max 1KB/s at any given day)
(or probably because a lot of s aimed at my server....)

seems normal to what i can see on the tracker's backend... about 200 connects per minute are a normal frequency, regular update-time of the utorrent-client is 5 minutes, so i guess we are dealing with minimum 1k ers! that's pretty impressive! if you are able to get 2-4MB/s this is a lot of work for your torrent client as well! eventually you can try to increase the maximum connects per torrent in your settings.

my settings are on the wild side (it crashes my uTorrent on 70+ MB/s rate....)

i don't know how to get an of more than 60MB/s at all... only my raid may be able to handle such a speed... but crazily i don't even have the internet to even test that properly

mine is a RAID-backed 200 GB virtual hard disk on Xen (provided by the hosting company)
i also do regular disk defragmenting (and after any ) to maintain high speed reading/writing to hard disk

the downtime of my website (kater.selfhost.me) is due to a problem with the ISP and their DNS-Management. i wrote a script to update the DNS, updated it every 5 minutes and got blocked because of too many times of updates. i had to edit it down to 1 hour wait each update and the reconnect each day is working, but only if the site is not under actual use. theirfor it can depend on when it will go down. but main downtime (i sometimes install updates then) is beetween 5pm and 6pm CEST

1-300 pack has been limited to 512KB/s to reduce the bandwidth usage (reaching 10+ MB/s at peak and will finish up my quota if left unattended)

I am currently seeding all beatmap packs 1-370 (all big packs+smaller packs for pack 300 and up)

I am able to provide up to 50 MB/s guaranteed and burst rate up to 100 MB/s depending on the hosting provider and the hard disk rate since I am currently using virtual dedicated servers so throughput is kinda lower than a dedicated.

Note!: My server quota has only 100 GB left so all torrents are capped at 512KB/s till the end of the month (since my quota gets reset every 30th day of the month

Well, it really depends on the seeders though (There's a lot of seedboxes afaik from my random clearing and reing). At a good day, you can get ~20-30 MB/s of even if I am not seeding.

I do have a plan to swap my current VPS (unlimited bandwidth with 4 TB quota to 100Mbps upstream/downstream with unlimited quota in the nearest time [or at least after I have mastered on how to use linux properly D:]). But from my view, I think 4 TB a month is decently enough even with the increasing number of GBs per day (from average of 70 GB to 150 GB and sometimes 400+ GB a day). I will definitely seed the beatmap packs as long as I could if my current piggybank allow me to do so (its decreasing badly due to the TCO of the server currently at $25 a month). But probably with my new job secured, I might able to run it at least for a good one year or more.

(I actually want to put a donation link at my server but I just don't wanna people to share my burden )

checked my website for correct magnet links. i will not search in every old pagepart (e.g. quickrelocate-scripts for this forum) to be fully correct. but in future i will have a closer look!

ok now i try to change my website to a hoster that gives me port 80 access... somehow tracker is available but website is broken. server working without an error, localhost and in LAN everything works. will try a different router tomorrow... problems never end~ stay tuned. i know about the prob but i have no solution until now.

It might cause problems if you want to seed both the official beatmap pack and that but it depends you your current storage space.

The 0001-0330 beatmap pack is repackaged in one big .rar file which is different to the small beatmap packs, big beatmap packs and 0001-0200,0001-0300 since those are individual packs, not repackaged ones

Its been a great fun for me to help the community to seed these beatmap torrents.
In the duration of April 30 to today, i have seeded 42145.59 GB to help speeding up the of the beatmap packs.
Sadly, I have to cease all seeding operations indefinitely to make way for my real life stuff (i no longer have the time to take care of this server )
Hopefully I will come back seeding when I am out of those issues soon

it seems that 301-400 beatmap torrents isn't compatible with (doesn't seem to be 100% complete when checked using qbittorrent file checker):

311-320
321-330
331-340
341-350

probably i will not seed those above packs and seed 301-400 instead (or maybe i provide a fixed torrent file?)

The 301-400 megapack torrent is delivered in the same way as the previous megapacks 201-300 and is not interchangeable with the minipacks. It's unfortunate, but this is due to the way torrent protocols work
The 001-100 and 201-300 minipacks were only compatible with the megapacks as they were created after the megapacks. I don't imagine anyone even uses the minipacks between 001 and 200 any more...

This is how my folder structure works:


(Disregard the 401-400 folder there, that's just preparation and is not yet available)

In your case, and probably many others, the easiest thing is to copy all the packs from the minipack folders into the megapack folder, and seed that. Since a megapack is out, there isn't much need for the mini ones now anyway!


It's nice to see there are already people getting the 301-400 torrent, can those of you who do please seed for a while, no matter how slow your speed is (every little helps!) to help others. Thanks~

For now, I am trying to get 301-400 and see whether that makes those minipacks compatible, If not... that may be the end of the small pack seeding

Do you mean the 201-300 torrent? As far as I'm aware that is not compatible with the minipacks (201-210, 211-220, 221-230, etc) or it shouldn't have been.. (Edit: Re-reading what you say here, do you have all the beatmap packs in one big folder, and all your torrents run from that? If so, that actually sounds client-specific and non-conforming to the bittorrent protocol..)

If you pause the torrent, copy the .rar files from the minipack (301-310, 311-320, etc) folders into the megapack (0301-0400) folder, and then force a re-check, it should work correctly.

I'd rather not swap the file since it appears to be working correctly to me, the only issue seems to be with how those are being stored for you, and there are already plenty of peers using that torrent..


P.S. I see the 0001-0200 and 0001-0300 torrents in your client - those are deprecated and will soon be removed from my tracker

Afaik, most torrent client do allow custom folder names (uTorrent, BitTorrent, libTorrent-based client). I am using qBittorrent though (used it since uTorrent keeps on filling up the RAM everytime it have >20 MB/s). qBittorrent allowed me to reach 40 MB/s on full load

Tried that, some packs aren't readed (only 86% complete)

Looks like I will be back to the old way of having the actual folder rather than one big folder containing all the packs if this doesn't work...

Extra thing:
I might add another 100/100 Mbps unlimited quota server probably next month since it seems that I can use up the quota on this primary server before the end of the month (8 TB of them) so that the s will be smoother

Interesting, I've never seen that option in uTorrent before, unless it's in a newer version that I've never used. No idea on that
I wasn't counting the 1-200 and 1-300 torrent because as said, these should be considered deprecated - I actually have no idea how these were done as they weren't 'standard' and never appeared in my boxes.

That's very weird, since that's the way I do it on my boxes - otherwise getting these new torrents up would take forever!

If you can figure out some way to make your torrent client accept that, feel free! So long as the data seeded is correct. As far as I know, doing such doesn't strictly follow the bittorent spec, and I'd rather keep compatibility for those who don't understand the finer details of these things to minimise -like questions.

That would be very appreciated! I'm looking to add an extra box sometime soon once I do the redesign (to make things easier for people) but more is definitely merrier!

I might delete all the torrents i have running now and use your links instead... i think possibly the contents on freakkater's torrent make this issue (maybe like atime or mtime)... (also if i still can't manage to get them work...)

I don't want to say anything specific, but considering the issues with the torrents from 340-390 (directory naming etc) I wouldn't surprised if there was some issue there. It seems that quality control went rather downhill as soon as he planned to stop contributing
