ups... sorry, i have a scripted frontend where i can add some things that are in beta-stage... as like adding ftps to torrents... officially in beta test and maybe added to dunctionality in the next month/years, depending on amount of requests for it.

well horribad news... the VPS that i am currently using having some really bad DDoS recently... instead of routine maintainance, i will perform server migration from Chicago to LA... should be done in 200-600 minutes according to the provider atm... (and some performance tweaks to make the server more responsive to really high speed in excess of 20 MB/s since there's some VPS/seedbox with that speed around these days though)

EDIT: have been completely migrated my VPS to another location... the hostname for FTP still remains the same (ftp://chong601.no-ip.org) but the IP has been changed to ftp://64.94.100.118

Changes:

1. Changed location to LA
2. Changed utorrent version to 2.2.1 (screw 3.4.2 they are pure crap)

Since the beatmap-torrents are now well-seeded... i have stopped all seeding and now focusing on 1-330 extreme big packs till it have 100 seeds...

Once beatmap pack #370 comes out could you make a new torrent for 1-370, containing the original beatmap packs, and not a repackage into one file?

I know there's good intentions behind the 1-330, but packaging into one file is just a really awful idea for many reasons:

1. It cuts your seeding pool in two. People using the old torrents can't seed from their files: they have to re everything again.
2. People that ed from the site can't seed from those either.
3. It wastes space when extracting, especially if it's a .rar just containing more .rar files.
4. s can't do anything until they have the whole huge file.
5. s can't set priority on packs they want sooner than others.
6. s can't select individual packs to and seed, if they just want a few of them. This is especially important for people with bandwidth caps.
7. Really, torrents are made to multiple files, letting s select which they want to and seed. This single file torrent is a huge step backwards and hurts both seeders and leechers in of availability, bandwidth, disk space, and ing options.

If you switch to a single unified torrent, it'll eliminate the need for both the single file 1-330, and all the individual torrents for 1-100, 101-200, etc. You'll have all your seeders in one place, and s will be able to choose which packs they want to and seed from in their own client.

If i pack the torrent with big beatmap packs, others can point the small beatmap packs to the big packs in which when they do torrent recheck, i will check those files that are in it and ignores other files unrelated to the torrent.

Yeah the one big chunk of .rar files messed up my hard disk fragmentation due to the way I set my utorrent to use sparse files which makes a high fragmentation issue every time i ed the torrent (in which some seeders might experience a few influx due to me attempting to make defragmentation easier) and most of those seedbox and VDS/VPS which i use have size limitations on their hard disk in which if we use these beatmap packs, it will be easier on our side too

i can make 50-packs if you want as well. even a monthly 0000-0xxx is thinkable but i don't know if the interest is high enough for those who want to /. please leave me a PN if you are interested!

My recommendation: Continue the normal beatmap torrent making, just add the giant beatmap packs which include all big beatmap packs (100 packs) and then followed by small beatmap packs (eg if the giant beatmap packs reached 300, just add small beatmap packs after that (301-310, 311-320 and so on). If new giant beatmap packs released, just add the giant 1st).

tl;dr version of the above: prioritize the future extremely large beatmap packs this way: giant beatmap 1st then followed by small beatmap packs

Yep they are scary but if you still wanna use it, to use diskio.sparse_files (and prepare for extreme fragmentation) and as well enable diskio.flush_files to prevent RAM getting filled by Windows if you are using the latest BitTorrent or uTorrent.

Pack 1-200 (individual packs)
Pack 1-300 (individual packs)
Packs 301-370 aren't packed into one unless if they are in 100s

O.O did you extracted the .osz file as well? You are doing it wrong.....
The correct way is extract all .rar beatmap packs to /path/to/your/osu!/folder/Songs then launch osu! (if you didn't open it) or press F5 (if you have opened osu!).
DON'T MANUALLY EXTRACT THOSE .OSZ FILES YOURSELF! DOING THAT MIGHT CAUSE SOME ISSUES (like yours)

No, I only extracted the rar file. This is the content of the rar file.

It's fine, I got it now. It was just anime pack 1. It extracted zip files within the rar for whatever reason. The others extracted just the osu files.

when using winrar or other likewise software you can extract via drag and drop. but if it still extracts all within as well then you have to check your settings!

Probably BitTorrent blocking? I hosted away from my home because of the exact same problem (and it only allow max 1KB/s at any given day)
(or probably because a lot of s aimed at my server....)

seems normal to what i can see on the tracker's backend... about 200 connects per minute are a normal frequency, regular update-time of the utorrent-client is 5 minutes, so i guess we are dealing with minimum 1k ers! that's pretty impressive! if you are able to get 2-4MB/s this is a lot of work for your torrent client as well! eventually you can try to increase the maximum connects per torrent in your settings.

my settings are on the wild side (it crashes my uTorrent on 70+ MB/s rate....)

i don't know how to get an of more than 60MB/s at all... only my raid may be able to handle such a speed... but crazily i don't even have the internet to even test that properly

mine is a RAID-backed 200 GB virtual hard disk on Xen (provided by the hosting company)

the downtime of my website (kater.selfhost.me) is due to a problem with the ISP and their DNS-Management. i wrote a script to update the DNS, updated it every 5 minutes and got blocked because of too many times of updates. i had to edit it down to 1 hour wait each update and the reconnect each day is working, but only if the site is not under actual use. theirfor it can depend on when it will go down. but main downtime (i sometimes install updates then) is beetween 5pm and 6pm CEST

1-300 pack has been limited to 512KB/s to reduce the bandwidth usage (reaching 10+ MB/s at peak and will finish up my quota if left unattended)

I am currently seeding all beatmap packs 1-370 (all big packs+smaller packs for pack 300 and up)

I am able to provide up to 50 MB/s guaranteed and burst rate up to 100 MB/s depending on the hosting provider and the hard disk rate since I am currently using virtual dedicated servers so throughput is kinda lower than a dedicated.

Note!: My server quota has only 100 GB left so all torrents are capped at 512KB/s till the end of the month (since my quota gets reset every 30th day of the month

Well, it really depends on the seeders though (There's a lot of seedboxes afaik from my random clearing and reing). At a good day, you can get ~20-30 MB/s of even if I am not seeding.

I do have a plan to swap my current VPS (unlimited bandwidth with 4 TB quota to 100Mbps upstream/downstream with unlimited quota in the nearest time [or at least after I have mastered on how to use linux properly D:]). But from my view, I think 4 TB a month is decently enough even with the increasing number of GBs per day (from average of 70 GB to 150 GB and sometimes 400+ GB a day). I will definitely seed the beatmap packs as long as I could if my current piggybank allow me to do so (its decreasing badly due to the TCO of the server currently at $25 a month). But probably with my new job secured, I might able to run it at least for a good one year or more.

(I actually want to put a donation link at my server but I just don't wanna people to share my burden )

I'm currently doing a testbed on my home PC... looks promising for now but yet to resolve some stuff (lotsa updates, rtorrent/libtorrent (or othe torrent clients), and SSH)

thats the issue, but they work on it so i think it will be done in a few days!

// edit1: site seems to work now again, but i don't know how long the will take... maybe longer... site is a bit slow atm, may get better dunno...

probably due to bad connection to the main server, 502 error seldom occur unless if the destination isn't responding within the period (common on forwarders)

Anyway, I am seeding 371-380 at full speed (after stealing those packs from the mirror site) so happy leeching

@freakkater: can you standardize the torrent naming (like the old ones?) Arranging them in my list would be easier

normal should be that the .torrent will try to with the name "osu" and the magnet as it's packname.

sorry for putting the torrent with a wrong name here... missed the minus between the numbers...

checked my website for correct magnet links. i will not search in every old pagepart (e.g. quickrelocate-scripts for this forum) to be fully correct. but in future i will have a closer look!

ok now i try to change my website to a hoster that gives me port 80 access... somehow tracker is available but website is broken. server working without an error, localhost and in LAN everything works. will try a different router tomorrow... problems never end~ stay tuned. i know about the prob but i have no solution until now.
working again now. *hating ISP and DNS-provider now*

so i have broke my server again... and this gives me the chance to migrate from uTorrent 2.2.1 to qBittorrent 3.1.11

There will be intermittant connectivity issues while i will try to make it as optimized as how uTorrent was giving me 10+MB/s speed

EDIT: Its back up (less than 10mins ftw) but now all big torrent packs (100s, 200s and 300s) are under qBittorrent while 301+ packs are still under uTorrent for testing purposes

Is there any ar9 beatmap packs available? It would be cool to have all ar9 maps x)
