Problem details: I would like to move all of my data from Windows installation to a Linux one. To be exact, I only want my skins and beatmaps. Skins can be exported easily, but is there a way to export a list of beatmaps and let lazer automatically everythin listted? I tried importing with setup wizard, but it can't properly "see" the Windows installation (expectably?).

Video or screenshot showing the problem: *not sure if needed*

osu! version: 2025.424.0-lazer

The setup wizard is generally used for migrating osu!(stable) data to your lazer install rather than lazer->lazer. If you have a previous lazer install mounted/available then you can use the `Change folder location` button at the top of settings to select an existing lazer install.

But would it not have issues with the fact that these are dsifferent OS installs?

In principle copying across the %appdata%/osu directory from windows to ~/.local/share/osu to migrate from a windows lazer install to a linux lazer install should Just Work™. Give it a try, I think there's a decent chance it will. I'm pretty sure many people already have done so and had it work. Probably make a backup if there's anything in there that you're attached to, though.

Already dorked it, unfortunately. If only there was a way to install lazer as a package and not as .appimage...

Oh, well. Thanks for the info, anyways. Let it be marked solved.

We don't have the throughput to maintain fifty packages across distributions sorry. We generally move too fast for distributions to catch up anyways. Some distros repackage the appimage to their package managers of choice like arch but we don't give any guarantees that they work. The only methods we are the appimage and the flatpak.

If you bulk-re songs, I recommend keeping em backed up as .osz somewhere. I have about 100 songs on my NAS and restore the folder stable/Lazer Windows and Linux.
