what is a survey for you

I'd define it as a question or a query with the aim to gather a variety of responses to gain knowledge about a population but that's just me

Why, my friend, a survey is a thread where you post a question as the main topic and then invite everybody and their mother to answer it for great comedic and conversational effect.

"But Billy, aren't these threads incredibly spammy and a one-sided waste of time for 99% of the people reading the forum?", asks those.

Yes, those, you're exactly right. These threads are indeed a gigantic waste of time for people trying to actually find and post proper content that requires more than 20 seconds of executive thought to contribute to.

So, they have their own subforum now!

surveys are threads i like to check in light of great boredom :)

but dm4mutual has the right of it, im usually looking for something reflective of me that i can post for my own gratification, or im looking intently to understand who people are and what they think-- but thats not exclusive to survey threads
