How do I disable hit lighting entirely for any skin ?
CatzerTM
As far as I'm aware it is hard coded and can't be removed or edited via skinning but I could be wrong, Perchance as you play more you'll eventually filter it out of your view and will not be something you're actively focusing on

That's not

That's actually incorrect, since I've seen these skins myself e.g Bunnrei's skin from 2020

can you provide one of these skins, assuming when you say "hit lightning" you're actually referring the glow on the catcher that scales in length to your combo when catching a fruit and not the flashing background lights on kiai sections I could not find anything that would remove that even looking various gameplay trying out various ctb specific skins.

If I could, I wouldn't be asking this question here :)
Maybe someone could provide these skins so I can check the skin.ini file and determine exactly what it is

fair bit of an oversight on my part, However the skin.ini file is only concerned with the RBG values of Hyperdash elements regarding ctb, it would likely be some other filename if anything but I will leave this up to someone more knowledgeable about skin elements for this question as again I'll preface I very well could be wrong on some things.

small edit: by chance were you referencing the combo number at the top of the catcher by chance since that's the only difference I observed? if that's the case you would use clear png file named as: main-0, main-0@2x, main-1, main-1@2x etc.. to main-9, main-9@2x in the skin folder and ensure that "ComboPrefix" in the skin.ini is set to main. other than that I'm unsure of anything else that could be removed in the particular screenshot you sent relating to your issue

perhaps, you could've asked Bunnrei directly, however, I'm not sure if she's willing to answer

To disable the hit lightning, you need to set the combo colours in the skin.ini file to be black (0,0,0). Also make sure you have ignore beatmap skins on, to stop maps from forcing their own combo colours. But, since this also changes the colour of the fruits, you need to make sure the skin you’re using uses the overlay elements as the fruits and droplets themselves. Make sure to leave the normal fruits there though, since they’re used to make the shape of hyperdashes. Basically, copy the image used on the fruits elements to the fruits overlays. Don’t forget to also do this for the droplets files. If your skin doesn’t use white fruits you’ll also need to colour the overlay elements to be the desired combo colours. The downside is that you can only have one colour for the droplets. Here’s a link to some versions of my skin that have no hit lighting: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/wklc2qjdr5omo/%E3%80%8CCTB%E3%80%8D. You should be able to figure out how it works if you look through the fruits skin files, though I use different regular fruits elements in these to change how the hyperdashes look / reduce the kiai glow.
