is otagecore one of those niche microgenres like two or three artists use to describe their music, which is, ultimately, just melodic hardcore techno made for rhythm games

tldr of this incoming big wall of text is that you'll find similar music much more easily by looking at the soundcloud pages and bandcamp pages of the artists you've linked here, and looking for music labels such as tano*c or psycho filth that have compilation albums with music from these artists on them. looking for similar music based solely on huge umbrella genres like "hardcore" is a waste of time.

these are all just various shades of electronic music, usually genres that end in -core, so hardcore, breakcore, speedcore, etc. some of them have hints of dnb, dubstep, techno, idm. this might sound silly but I can assure you that this is the case: the reason you're interested in these kinds of songs in particular is that they're produced with rhythm gaming in mind. several of the artists you linked here, I know of them exclusively through bms. himiko is literally from iidx lol.

music made this way is not a bad thing, nor is it a good thing, it's just a thing. look at the evolution of j-core over the years side by side with the evolution of japanese rhythm games. you linked blue army by sharpnel, a song that I'd be willing to bet that most people know of either through osu or stepmania, so you're already on track. blue army is 20 years old btw, the first time I heard it was by playing a stepmania chart for it in like 2007.

if you want more music like this, your best bet isn't looking for genres, you should be looking at music labels and sites like the artist's bandcamp or soundcloud. I clicked on the bandcamp link in the very first song you posted, fractured heaven, and wouldn't you know it, it has more music, and not just from dj raisei! I clicked on the soundcloud link under vomit by technoplanet, and wouldn't you know it, a bunch of the songs ed there are tagged as explicitly from other rhythm games!

these songs really are produced with rhythm games in mind. by that, I mean that the rhythms are programmed/sequenced the way they are, specifically so they can work well if charted for rhythm games. looking again at the first track you posted, going just off the tempo of 310, that puts it pretty solidly within an archetypal range for speedcore. by contrast, here's a 300 bpm speedcore track from a european artist. white aura by hyun is tagged as 'hardcore' and 200 bpm is a pretty archetypal tempo for that genre (albeit at the higher end of tempos). by contrast, here's a 200 bpm hardcore track from a european artist.

I was gonna make a list of what genres I would use to describe each song you've listed based on the 9 second preview clip this dumb web player gives you, but some of these songs are pretty long and since it's rhythm game music, more than a few of them will have blends of multiple different genres that change from section to section. because, again, rhythm gaming lol.

otogecore quite means "hardcore game music" or smth like that and it means music thats made to be really hard and for rhythm game charter to chart

good to know, so "otagecore" is basically getting away with not using "bmscore"
