its definitely a false positive, as osu is a completely safe game to play. (like im playing it and im all fine)

its just that certain antiviruses tend to mark certain games, for this case osu, as trojan or malware, but they tend to be all false.

so unless you didn't osu in the official page here: home/ or modify the game whatsoever or if your antivirus is preventing you from playing the game due to the warning, then it should all be fine.

Just don't use this antivirus, Windows Defender is more than enough for normal use.

...okay so dont delete or modify any files from the osu client as that will just stop making the game work, again its a false positive, those files dont contain real trojan, its just your antivirus mistaking it as real trojan...

i just stop using them honestly, and unless your sailing the seas or constantly going to sketchy sites, your never going to get an actual virus that would hack your entire computer and those things are really hard to find normally, so i always just use the default Windows Defender.

the antivirus provider and say that it's a false positive... or well use something else i guess?

this too, or whitelist it in your antivirus application

There's that, and also all free AVs are basically the same (they almost all use the same malware database, it's rare to have something that has more than 1 or 2 AVs flag it on VirusTotal) so ing a third party one is just useless (also most are adware).
In the case of osu! DrWeb is the only AV flagging it.

You don't really have to believe everything your antivirus says. osu! is completely safe to play, and there's no need to delete the files since it's going to break the game anyway, as you noticed. And there's also no need to the devs; it's just some false alarm

apparently AVG too was also giving false positives to osu

Antiviruses are a waste of money, and often slow down your PC. Just use Windows Defender.

I would recommend you use an actual name house antivirus, not something that seems to originate from Russia.

To an image on the forums, use imgbb.com or s-ul.eu and copy the direct image link (if you click on the link normally, you would just the image and nothing else).

For complete newbies, like this guy seems to be, it is a bad idea to recommend that. As you become more and more experienced, you can ditch it and just use Windows Defender.

How so? Defender comes with Windows, you literally have nothing to do, nothing to install, it's just there and it works perfectly fine. ing something else, especially for newbies, is just taking a risk (you may end up with something like Avast).

A few years ago, Defender was shit. It didn't have the greatest detection rates of the newest things possible. I decided to watch a review of it, and I must it, it seems better. It's not 100% detection rate, but it is fine enough for most s. I would still recommend you get an antivirus if you're paranoid/new to computers (Avast works IIRC, just that they're really pushy with ads).

It's a good idea in general to have an antivirus, even if it's just Defender. It should be obvious why.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most software isn't ed from the Windows Store, it is still ed and installed from the software developer's website. If it wasn't for Google and Microsoft taking shit seriously, newbies would be constantly infected.

That's why Defender is enabled by default, even if you disable it it will automatically get re-enabled if you don't install another AV.
