Oh dear this was so suspenseful and hilarious. It feels different from the 1st season but even so, I liked it, especially the fact that characters had a better writing here compared to the previous season.
Monogatari series, like most of SHAFT anime underwent through a lot of production issues, what you probably watched (as well as I) is a "fixed" version of something that used to look considerably worse. Bakemonogatari has an excellent art, some scenes are animated superbly, but most of the time animation is okay, excellent art but standard animation for the most part.Patatitta wrote: 4y1w
Bakemonogatari:And while it does some interesting things, mainly it uses color in a really nice way, creating environments that basically look alien even if it's just a normal park in theory. Still, while the animation is good, I expected something different from what I had seen. I always read "oh studio shaft is so fucking good", so I expected a style that was more inasne and breaking, closer to something like ping pong the animation, tatami galaxy or sonny boy, but that really wasn't the case. It's just really good regular animation
I mean...Patatitta wrote: 4y1w
the fact that it had production problems doesn't really change what I said really, I still do think shaft is a bit overrated in that sense lmao
bocchi is a really good first step, honestly, not my favourite SoL, but I really like what it represents and how it does it, in of just pure quality, bocchi is on the upper echelon, i'm really glad it got that populargreat_elmo wrote: 5y2m38
Bocchi the Rock is an absolute 10/10 in every way possible even though I initially didn't get the hype around it.
Top tier 2d and 3d animation, "she just like me fr" moments that I, a slightly socially anxious person feels very relatable and Kessoku Band didn't just cook with every song they played, they delivered some of the best anime songs I've heard yet (given this is only my 2nd anime as I have a LOT TO CATCH UP WITH).
I guess I'm gonna check out School Days now I guess.Nuuskamuikkunen wrote: 1i5658
School Days 8/10
I expected a lot less from School Days, but I found out one of the most down to earth stories I have ever seen. Some might say Makoto is the worst protagonist ever, but playing devil's advocate here: he was not particularly evil, just an idiot, just like most of the characters on this series. I normally dislike stuff when most characters are idiotic, but they are surprisingly well-written despite their shallowness, and the fact the series DOES show you that (most) of what happens is wrong and is made to make you feel sick rather than pleasured, I think School Days does an excellent job at that.
Anyway, I'd conclude that School Days is a very interesting case of study, since it is way too different to most of what I watched and whatever happens there is worth discussing. I think it is worth a watch if you are in the mindset for a psychological drama rather than a romance series.
As for production value... it's the average 2007 anime in almost all senses.
It's not for everyone. And I really mean it.great_elmo wrote: 5y2m38

this is actually a problem I had with oshi no ko, it references thigns but it doesn't understand them or really go deep into it, htey just acknowledge that they existReyalp51 wrote: 6m1t2o
nah that shit is not a 9 i stopped at ep 10 may catch up soon but its not that great, just because it shows part of vtubing culture doesnt mean it actually understands it as much as we think. First 2 episodes did a really good job but when we get to meet the characters more it doesnt feel that real anymore. Im probably the only vtuber fan that feels this way tho, this could have been peak
I mean really as a show in general it really is not that good but I am heavily biased for anything vtubers so...Reyalp51 wrote: 6m1t2o

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu season 2: 7/10 No spanish dub for this one, so what we have left is just a very typical romcom heavily relying on otaku culture very male fantasy/self-insert focus really slow in the romance and fairly plain in the characters some drama that just doens't really hit and overall an anime that doesn't have much to sayPatatitta wrote: 4y1w
Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu: 8/10: I'm mixed on this one, on one hand, the anime is pretty average, on the other hand, the spanish dub is actually so fucking good it hardcarries this anime, so 8/10 seems fair
