2. Rate it
3. Nice.
Oh man it's been a while that I haven't completed an anime LMAOOO

Watamote is a 8/10 because Tomoko Kuroki is MY FAVORITEEEEEE <33333

Also because the anime was funny to watch :D
Lemme just grab mine from mal along with my small thoughts on it.

Isekai Ojisan 7/10

Notes:
tbh this sounds more like an isekai with commentary rather than an afterstory isekai. Not gonna complain though. The absurd comedy and backwards characters really made this show enjoyable.
what is this font

Summer Ghost
9/10
Romantic Killer 7/10

Notes:
It set off to be a non-romance anime and finished as one. I like this show for the absurd comedy and the characters are surprisingly well-developed. They aren't afraid to get into darker topics too so it's a mix of good quality all around.
Jangsoodlor
apparently it's a kaguya-sama movie which had been splitted in 4 episodes on the high seas.

10/10.

waiting for season 4
I watched "weathering with you" with my friend
and all I can say is Masterpiece/10. it's sooo good and sad at the same time. I didn't cry though. I just felt sad.
suzume no tojimari

The quality of visual is one of the best but the story kinda mid. 7/10
But because I watch it with my one and only friend, it's 10/10

No, I said my one and only friend not because I'm a no lifer. It's my one and only friend because I use different deffinition of friends, if use generalized definition I have a lot of friends
manga, but caught up to oshi no ko for the first time

7.9/10
good manga, not that many complains, but doesn't really stand out for me IMO, can see why people like it a lot, but i'm not the target for this manga
Drifting away
10/10
Cowboy Bebop
10/10

railgun ss1

9/10.

Goddamn another reminder that I haven't updated my completed list in almost 5 months xd

Anyways, I'll just go off one of the last things I set as completed on my list: Anitore! XX Specials. Worthless trash full of lewd shots in a pathetic attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Even a complete horndog like me doesn't go for this shit, I have standards. Wanna hear anime girls breath and moan for 4 minutes? Here you go, buddy. There is some amount of value that can be attributed here for its (cheap) use of x-ray, but whatever value it has, it isn't much.

I have it as an entry barely qualifying for a 3/10 on my list for whatever reason (for some reason I give Anitore! so much leeway...) -- I think I'll lower my score down to a 2.

Notes:
Aside from that one legendary scene, the anime is just pretty alright. I felt like they didn't bring out the full potential of an interesting premise and the characters aren't really that well-developed but it's still a fine watch.

Mashiro no Oto 7/10

Notes:
I really loved the shamisen scenes captivating you and the story of setsu finding himself and "his sound," but the ending left us at a point of suffering without giving us proper closure. It would've been fine if there'd been another episode to finish it but it really irked me that it didn't.
manga, message to adolf, 8/10

pretty damn good, if my rating were objective this is probably a 9/10, but due to the things I had irl I had to read this manga very spread out which made me enjoy it a bit less, however it's a really good and engaging drama
Ousama Ranking: Yuuki no Takarabako 6/10

These may be a hit or miss but when they do they hit hard. Especially those ones that further give context to the events of the first season and deepens our understanding of each character we've come across so far. It kind of makes it easier to get more immersed in the story when season 2 comes out.

Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight Movie
8/10

One of the most mind-fucking anime I've seen. Surprised that this is not considered Avant Garde.
No game no life: it is literally what i was expecting but it made me laugh so 7/10 is fair
two mangas i've read recently, but before, I want to explain how I rate things

5/10 is the bare minimun, if I finised it, it's at least a 5/10
6/10, it has an extremely big flaw, but it wasn't actually painful to finish
7/10, flaws that ruin a lot of the experience to read, not good but not really that bad, can be no flaws but still really just didn't really got into it at all
8/10, manga with almost no flaws I can tell, except that for some reason or another, I just didn't vibe with it
9/10, manga that I did personally connect with, but smaller in ambition, so a manga that I liked, that tries doing something smaller and just nails it, that is a 9/10
10/10, manga that either has been extremely enjoyable to read or just highly transforms the way I see the genre or medium, mangas that are very experimental or ambitious that's ends up doing it perfectly, stuff that you're still thinking about months after you end

MagMell Shinkai Suizokukan: 9/10, fishmanga, it's just a cute SoL which main objective is trying to teach you about fish, does this well, really liked it, it's still ongoing but i'm now caught up, really cool

The Horizon, (manhwa) 7???/10, for a little bit of context, I was looking for manga to read, I wanted to explore more genres, so I went looking for shorter mangas on genres i'm not the most familiar, and then, I found this manga called the horizon, it's one of the highest rated mangas of all time, and I think that it is in the top 3 highest rated manhwa, at least on myanimelist

I want to really like the horizon, I get what it's trying to do, however, there is just a manga I cant quite get into, if you read the first 5 pages you get what type of manga this is, it's the type of manga that's highly psicological, where a lot of scenes are not actually real, but explains the character mentality, has very few text because the enviroment a lot of the abstract art transmits the message and energy of the manga equally or not better, the plot is just a device to try to push a philosophical message

I want to say that this manga at a technical level is absolutely perfect, the art is really good, and the way it can say so much with so little text and runtime, it's truly a great archivement, however, the text that there is (which again, is very little)... just didn't actually seem that good?, like, the language just seemed off, I think this is a scanlation error but whatever, it's the way I've experienced this manga, and it's something that affects my enjoyement of it

The manga is divided on a few small arcs, every story arc is a little scene, with a clear enviroment and characters, and each tells a story about morality, one arc talks about how the value of life isn't something that is set in stone, but the value of a human life depends purely in the spectator, so someone can see someone else as low or as high as they feel it's accurate, another arc may talk about at what point self defense is guaranteed, why do we feel like we have to defend ourselves

I can appreciate the characters, the enviroments, everything, but the actual message it's trying to push, I don't know, it actually just didn't make me thing that much, these are not radically new ideas, it's portrayed really nicely, but it's not a philosophy that i'm not familiar with

and I think this is the problem I have with this manga, as I said, the plot of the manga is just a device to push the idea, however, if you dont quite interact with the idea, then all the character moments and a lot of the scenes just doesn't feel that emotionally charged, making this a experience way blander that what it's supposed to be

I asked if it was a me problem for not reading it right, for not understanding it right, however, no, i've just watched a couple of video analysis on this manga, and most of them talk about how they already in chapter one were feeling things, however, I just never reached this connection with the manga

It's not a genre that i'm too familiar with but still, I dont think that is the reason why I didn't vibe with this manga, i've read mangas that even if they have a wildy different imaginery and style, has the same structure, of mostly being philosophical, and the plot just being a device for the idea, and I've enjoyed those way more than this one, and I dont get exactly why, it's something i'm still thinking about

I don't know what to feel about this, I can understand why this manhwa may be amazing, but it's not something I connect with, and that kinda hurts, if this story grows on me on the months to come, and I start to feel it more, I might raise it to a 9, however, if not, I just may lower it to a 7

updated: lowered it to a 7 at least for now

When people say "it gets better" they really, really mean it with Black Clover. Asta's screaming pretty much completely dissipates over the course of the first 40 or so episodes. His VA also steadily improves over this time. If that's all you're concerned over in Black Clover, the rest should be more than tolerable, as you'll find more than just a generic shounen in this show.

Note that the animation at its low points is on par or even worse than One Piece's worst animation. While it does have its high peaks, in general the animation isn't anything to write home about (what can you expect from a team of only 10 people lol).

If the Black Clover team wasn't so small (10 people-- amongst those, only 1 director and ZERO in-between animators) and tasked with producing 50 episodes per season all by themselves, this show wouldn't be so shit on a technical level. Story and character wise I believe it's relatively strong, while not revolutionary or particularly amazing, it's more than worth the time for any anime fan. Not a must watch by any means, but pretty good. If you can't look past Asta's voice in the beginning episodes or the shitty animation the whole series is plagued by, I heard that many people who picked up the manga really enjoyed the series, so that's always an option.

I'd say Black Clover is one of the better modern shounen out there from a more narrative, worldbuilding and character-focused standpoint, without all the glaring inconsistencies and baffling writing problems as something like, say MHA. Not saying you should watch it or that you're really missing out on anything incredible, but that giving the show another chance could be a good idea.

honestly an anime must be really fucking good in order for it to be worth it watching so many mid/bad episodes

Patatitta wrote: 4y1w

What I meant isn't that it "gEtS gOoD" past a certain point, but that it ever so steadily improves. Black Clover starts off rough with its first 6 episodes, though gradually improves from that point on (the first arc after those 6 episodes not being anything all that special, mostly an introduction / way to establish to the world and main characters). I would consider mostly everything from Black Clover's first 3 arcs as fairly standard quality shounen (keep in mind each arc does continue the upward climb in quality). By around the time the Underwater Temple arc starts is when viewers (from what I've seen) typically start to become more invested, as the antagonists' plot becomes more and more of a focus. It's nothing but improvement from there, eventually culminating into a well-executed "master plan" saga spanning 100 episodes.

Each arc in the series served to not only develop and expand on the overarching plot of Black Clover and its first Saga, but each one serves to do the same with each member of the Black Bulls-- each arc formed around each individual one-- and it fits quite seemlessly, so by the time you're pretty far into the series, the entire main cast has already grown on you.

It's a slow and steady uphill climb, one that requires a bit of patience and investment on the viewer's behalf (ie. their time), but it's worth it. Black Clover never culminates into some grand masterpiece or anything truly spectacular, but rather an enjoyable and well executed show with few glaring problems (especially in comparison with other modern shounen, which to me have come off as demonstrating high peaks but also horrendous downward spikes). The only thing that stays fairly bad is the animation lol. I heard that they even got Narmak (the guy who made the fucking Spongebob fan anime) to animate a section in one of the episodes lmao.
Latest anime I finished would be Nichijou, it was really good 9/10, really funny too. The professor just got on my nerves sometimes lol which is why it's not a 10.

For manga though well I would say oyasumi punpun was good, even though it was super dark. Inio Asano really knows how to write a story 10/10.

Death note, 6/10: This manga is not good, read it because it was extremely popular and influential but did not like it
Classroom of the elite s1 + s2 was not as bad as I expected. I have seen a lot of cringy fans of this series, that's why I have low expectations for this series. I never read the ln so I will just review and rate the anime. There are a few things that I don't really understand/like.
  1. Why everyone really doesn't want to get expelled from the school
  2. Why are there dumb people who got accepted to the school
  3. Why the writer wrote every character has some kind of complex things from their past (sometimes simple characters are better, and it's not like everyone that lives in this world has those kinds of things)

And the most confusing things that I can't wrap around my head no matter how many times or how long I think about it,
HOW THE F SHE PLAYS THE QUEEN THERE, AND THINK IT'S A GOOD CHECK? AND SHE WAS READING A BOOK ABOUT CHESS

pretty easy to predict, almost none of the characters feels like human, Takahashi Rie didn't voice any student from 1-D, questionable chess move (I'm still mad about it), but at least I didn't sleep when watching. 7/10

Jun: Shoutarou no Fantasy World, 6/10: I actually was waiting for someone to write in this thread so I could make another post and be happy with it

this is a 2 volume manga, kinda like an anthology, very abstract, amazing play, however, this manga feels very arrogant, sometimes it feels abstract just because the mangaka wanted to, even if the story of message didn't require such abstraction, and it actually deducted from the value of the art piece rather than increasing it

I have another manga i'm about to finish so please someone post in this thread too thx

Heh, I'm feeling good that you read it. It's one of my only "three" (so far) fav "manga" (Well, Haruhi is a Light Novel tho but anyway).

Personally I think it was great, to me it was more like a lesson of art or something to inspire people when in an art block. In my opinion it's a great work of art (or rather, metaart) whose view can change depending on the viewer. I personally found it relatable and I even cried in one chapter or two, really.

Ah also, I liked that it barely had dialogue. My attention span really thanked it. I could just let myself look at it.

I was about to give it a 10 but... I felt like it had too many chapters and was getting bored by second volume. Volume 1 was great but... I felt like Volume 2 wasn't really needed.

Erased (Manga): 9/10, Really good mistery manga, really liked it, have no complains about it really, loved the characters, solid story, good art, etc

Yume Nikki, 7/10: a few days ago, I decided to start playing Yume Nikki (The videogame), and if you know anything about this game, you know it's confusing af, i'm trying to avoid using guides that may spoil me of zones and stuff, but, I was feeling kinda stuck in a part, so, I decided to read the manga to see if there was any info I could bring into my playthrough

It did help with this, found one or two things thanks to this manga

now, about the manga quality itself, the yume nikki manga is often very hated since it's not a faithful adaptation, it kinda does it's own thing with the yume nikki world, and honestly, I think this is a perfectly fine to do. When you have a world and universe like the one from yume nikki, writting different stories about it is actually quite interesting, it's just another take on the same locations

I personally did like the manga, it was short, maybe a little bit too short, a bit confusing near the end, but it's not something that has ruined my experience of the manga

Oshi no ko. The story not as interesting as the manga tbh. At least in other aspect like OP and the casts (especially they got Rie) they got it good. 9/10

School Days 1/10

Very heated notes
What the fucks with this show? Every single one of these characters are so horrible and they're becoming even more shittier as each episode goes on. Every piece of dialouge is so awkward and watching them interact with eachother is so fucking horrible to watch through, especially itou. He is actually the worst character I've ever came across in fiction. This asshole can't just stop pulling his dick out and somehow every girl still wants to fuck him despite being known as the biggest piece of shit in that school. And when this fucker's sins finally catches up to him he has the gall to say it's not his fault? Fuck youuuuu. I hated him so much I kept punching the screen everytime he appears.

Good thing that fucker dies in the boat scene, together with sekai too. Did you know how happy I was when both of them died? I was screaming death and murder so loudly my neighbors got suspicious. It's a bit of a shame that katsura and everyone else didn't die, but at least they got two of the biggest piece of shits I've ever seen go to hell.

I have officially found the worst anime I've ever watched. When I initially went into this show, I thought it'd be just some bad slice of life anime but I didn't know it was gonna be a cesspoll filled with burning shit. I've never felt this much mental pain watching a show. Who thought it was a good idea to air this anime? Who thought it was a good idea to write something this horrible? Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be watching youtube videos of people reviewing this show while sharing the same sentiment I feel about it.

So funnily enough, School days is based off a VN, I'll let that sink in. This show was doomed from the start ngl, almost all VN anime adaptions are.

Vagabond, 9/10: I awhile ago Itried to read berserk, I did not enjoy it, and I dropped it in volume 13 (or 12, dont quite recall on top of my head), vagabond, while being in the same genre of action seinen manga, it's the complite opposite to berserk

even if its'a combat/action manga, the actual combats are not the point, the battles are just a step to achieve a goal, become "Strong". And in the actual fight scenes, the actual scenes are short and quick, a lot more elegant than in another mangas too

the only real complain I have ab out this manga is that it's extremely long, it's 37 volumes, the longest i've ever read

two different mangas, but i'm grouping them together

Hell //// Guyabano's Holdiay, 9/10: These are two works of a mangaka named "panpanya", and they deserve wayyyyy more recognision than they deserve

All works of the author are extremely unique, they're very abstract while still maintaining a plot for each chapter, plot than even if it seems nonsensical at first, you can still follow without much trouble

panpanya's artstyle is extremely unique, the characters art are extremely simple, while having beautiful backgrounds behind them

The actual plots are a mix between an autobiography, (probably) completely made up abstract stuff, and bits of real world, factual information, leading to a extremely unique narrative structure

it's worth saying that all of these mangas are anthologies, there are a bunch of stories that cover multiple chapters, but they're the exception and not the rule, i'm normally kinda mixed when it comes to anthologies, it feels like they often lack the time to really have much emotional impact, and i'm not really a big fan of them because of this, however, panpanya's decide to tell stories which can only be told in this format, raelly overcoming the limitations

problem is, 50% of the manga's made by this author are yet to be scanlated, and there really aren't official translation for most of them, in fact, the first manga i've listed isn't even on myanimelist, and I took probably over a year since I read most of the available panpanya's work to find a place to read another one of their mangas, I've heard another manga of theirs by the name of "Fish Society", has been officialy licenced, so I will just have to wait until a official translation for that manga apppears

panpanya's work is super unique and short, so you probably should give it a try, probably the best anthologies and oneshots i've ever read

Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist's Journey, 9/10, this manga is an autobiography of the journey that the author took since high school until becoming a mangaka, mainly, focusing in a prep school they went to, and the teacher that gave that class, it's an amazing story, the ending hits hard, I really recommend it
