More post plz. They are good thx for the tablet purchase guide
I am still new to the game but I have plenty of mouse experience since I played all kinds of games with mouse my whole life. =]
Now I got a CTL480 a week ago. I felt really weird at first and I had trouble using it properly. But even though having had it for only 6 days now I am already better in of accuracy and speed. It gave me all the benefits I was hoping for.

-Hovering without any physical resistance creates a more reliable cursor movement
-Pen is lighter than my mouse so movement in general are comming out more instant
-Sweaty hands don't create an issue for me anymore since I don't have the interruption of a fluid motion on the mousepad anymore
-Pin point locating circles which was not always as easy with the mouse due to relative cursor movement
-Spinners are much easier and more fun with a pen.

I love it and won't ever go back.

Time to buy a tablet! :D
Is anyone using Wacom Bamboo Light? Is it worth the price?
What is the best tablet in term of reactivity ? I'm currently using the bamboo pen et the input lag is really huge...
Is it possible to play on a tablet with one hand? My right hand is screwed up and I've been playing with the mouse so far.

Just get the shiniest one you find.
I want to buy an osu! tablet. Is there anywhere I can get one?

Store has been down for months and it always says "check back soon"
What are your opinion on the huion tablets that are around 30$ on amazon? Are they worth to buy ?

Yes it's worth it if it's just for osu

Anyone has thoughts on the Viko pen tablet? I'm using it at the moment but since I have no experience with other tablets I don't really know.

Great guide! I wouldn't recommend buying a tablet just for osu! since it doesn't make alotta difference when you practice enough, and it's expensive. I'd say don't give up on mousing too early and don't be fooled by statements as "all good players are tablet players".

Ofcourse if you're very dedicated to the game, wouldn't mind missing some money and would like to try tabletting, by all means do get one \o/
Thats not true cuz i went from mouse to tablet and boy what a difference it also helped jus geting better at the game in generald b4 i couldnt even play hard songs with mouse now i do and insane on tablet
Is it worth it? D;
Tablets are completely worth it.
I have an Intuos Pro Medium SE which I use with Photoshop.
Would it be overkill to use such a tablet for osu! ?

Ye.
Let's hope using it wireless doesn't cause noticble input lag.
Is big drawing tablet good choice for osu!? and i have some very cheap "Trust" drawing tablet but "aiming" to sliders and circles is so hard. i will buy large drawing tablet because then i have some space to there Oh s*it situtations xD But i ask your own experiences because i am pretty new in this game ;).

If you're getting it only to play osu! then buying anything bigger than the smallest size is a waste of money imo.
Would you guys recommend the osu tablet, i want a tablet and the osu tablet it's cheaper than buying one in my country even with the taxes for the export.
The thing i want to know is, it's really a good tablet? also, can i use to draw, or just for osu?
(Sorry for bad english)

You can use it for anything you want.
It's good enough for osu!

BTW, anyone have any recommendations on pen nibs?
Mine is starting to run out.
(Plz don't say hover. I have other work to do. My local shops don't sell any pen nibs....)
Midnight in my opinion i think it depends what do u use the tablet for most of the time, for me i do drawing a lot so i prefer the nib with a rubber at the tip, gives u more feel to it :P . Or you can just take out the pen nib and play osu without it, it still works fine though.

P.S im a newbie here so dont judge me :3

Is it better or worse to have a larger active area? I have a bamboo large and an intuos sml, naturally I use the larger pad but it does mean you have to move more to get from one place to another.

This is subjective and depends on the player. My advice is to use the biggest area you can while still be able to reach all 4 corners of your area.
don't buy a tablet

Did anyone try this tablet in osu? It looks like it's simply a new generation of the belowed Wacom Intous tablets, so it should be good enough, right?

These are the New Line of tablets set to replace the ctl 480. So far there hasn't been a lot of exposure of them for osu.

Basically other people are waiting for others to buy it.
I regret not buying the clt-480 two months ago,now I can't find it anywhere and there are 2 of those in amazon for some ridiculous prizes, any recommendations about something similar ?

You can still purchase ctl 480 from best buy / best buy (online version).

I would do so asap because they are starting to disappear.

Do you live in the US/UK

Try going to your Local Best buy or order it from Best Buy's site:

Heh, I'm better at osu! with my tablet (Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Small) then I am at drawing.
I am still a bit confused about tablet purchase. I am actually considering getting one, because playing with a mouse is actually quite physically painful for me.

I didn't want to start another thread, I see there is many already, but I'm not too good with that kind of stuff, so I was hoping someone would be kind enough to explain things to me smoothly.

I stumbled upon this guy's post : http://sweetmonia.com/Sweet-Drawing-Blo ... ing-guide/
Who suggested this tablet: http://www.amazon.com/mn/search/ref=as_ ... 7MWG2AUVGI

But when I look at the size of it, roughly 2.2 X 4 inches, that sounds incredibly small.

For the same price, I could get the osu! tablet which seems to be roughly double in size.

In that guide, I noticed that the Osu tablet is not in the options, is there a reason to it?

Considering that I am a pretty casual player, with no real hopes of being competitive, the Osu! tablet seems like a fine pick, but since it's not in that guide, I'm wondering if there is something I don't quite understand yet.

Sorry for all these "noobish" questions, I just have no idea where I'm going with that, and I don't really want to make a mistake on my purchase either.

Looking forward to hear from anyone who would be interested in clarifying things for me. I'll check this thread again, but if you want to take it in PM, I would also much appreciate that.

Thank you.

Have a look at the CTL-480 or the CTL-490. The CTL-490 when I got it was not very optimized and I refunded it and got the CTL-480. It is a tablet which many people go for and has a nice area of 152mm x 95mm.

Why does not much people mention about it? Is it heavily inferior to the CTL-480 you mention about?

no love for huion? i know the drivers suck and the build quality is nothing impressive, but the sheer price range is astounding. i picked up an 580 for $40 8x5in active area, with a pen, replacement nibs, driver cd and a manual. it works fine for art and excellent for osu!. the micro usb port is a bit wobbly though.
Does anyone know if the new ctl-490 is good for osu! ? I still want to buy the ctl-480 but I can't find it anywhere except amazon on high prizes from untrusted salesmen.
Edit: By the way guys, what do you think about this?
I am also interested in the CTL471 and CTL671, would they work for osu well?

And also, does the smaller workspace matter if I buy the smaller CTL471?
The Wacom One is just a region-specific rebranding of the Wacom Bamboo Pen (CTL-471), which was a pretty popular tablet for osu! back in its day, and should perform about the same as the Intuos.

Also, keep in mind that what Wacom calls "small" is the tablet that most people use for osu! (it's still bigger than the osu!tablet), so you shouldn't even bother with the medium size unless you're also planning on drawing.

You can buy a Huion 420, which is the same model as the osu!tablet, in plain black.

You can also buy an XP-Pen 430. It's a new product, but there is at least one osu! player who says it is good. This tablet has a lighter pen that does not need batteries.
What are good tablets that are cheap and good for beginners? Im level 11 with 88.63% accuracy and I think I may need a tablet. Also, how do you click with the tablet pen?

I know this brand isn't often mentioned but i plan to buy the Xp-pen Star G430 or the Star 01.
Which one should i buy, both have 2048 pressure and 5080 lpi. Is the star 01 even compatible for osu?
I also am gonna graphic design and digital paint so i need it to be compatible with programs such as Sai and photoshop.

Does somebody know a good tablet for around 70€?
I wanted to buy the Wacom ctl 480 but i cant seem to find it anywhere where i dont have to pay like 30-40€ shipping (I live in )
Just buy the CTL490.
Planning to buy G430, because I can already understand that I won't be able to play through maps with 5+ stars on the mouse with my prefered sensitivity and trying a higher one is very painful. But on the other hand than osu loses a way to train in aiming with mouth. Also, I'm a bit afraid cause I'm left-handed.
Any suggestions, guys?
i accidently order the osu! tablet... is there any way i can un-order it?
Hello to everyone here, today I was searching about a cheap tablet that let me play (osu) and work editing images like photoshop.

There are 2 tablets in my mind right now:
-Genius i405x
Pros:
I can buy it on my city.
More active space.
Cons:
4:3 .
There is no repair for a broken pen. (I need to brought a entire new tablet)

-Osu!Tablet 2016
Pros:
Better pressure, and other numbers that I don't understand.
Doesn't use battery.
16:9 .
Cons:
Less active space.
It's out of my country which in Argentina is always bad.

So anyone can tell me pros and cons about it? I have the money to buy them, but I don't want to waste it.

Regards.

It doesn't matter which one you get, you will like it or hate it no mater which one it is, it's just that the first tablet you get, will shape you.. For example my first one was CTL480 so automatically I wanted a tablet that has light pen, so I chose XP-Pen G430, most of who started on osu! tablet (or Huion) don't like light pens. Same goes to tablet area, I used half of the CTL480 area so G430 whole area was pretty much the same.

TLDR: my suggestion would be to get the one that looks good for you (I mean looks not specs) and you will shape accordingly.

P.S. When I changed to XP-Pen G430 I was putting my hand on the tablet, since G430 is way smaller I somehow started hover my wrist too.. so even if you change tablet along the way you will adapt to it too.
Can someone recommend me a tablet that will last, and doesn't scratch really easily? I've been using the Huion 420 for half a year and it's good for its price, but it's been having issues with USB recognition, and the surface is really scratched. I don't draw, and I just want to use it for osu, but I don't mind paying more for a better tablet.

It's hard to recommend something other than another Huion since you are now used to heavy pen. If you don't mind light pens, you can go with Wacom Intuos, they are great.

Ok thanks, I think the only difference then is the textured surface which could change the feel of play either for better or worse I'm not sure yet.

You don't need to be at 1 sensitivity, also try playing with toggling with raw input on and then off. I've heard some people get more latency with it and some more without. So just try both and find out what feels more responsive for you.
What tablet do guys recommend?
Ive been using mouse so im pretty open about it, i've read alot about cth480 but i dont want to spend 150$ on a tablet.
and the 490 has input lag

Huion 420 is an all round good tablet for OSU, its cheap and reliable. My friend had one and I have the 610 pro which is just a bigger 420. No noticeable input lag on this tablet.

You shouldn't mess with osu sens if you're using a tablet since it will screw with your tablet area. So 1x is the way to go.
I use the CTH-480, I get 0,4ms input lag (non-existent basically) with or without raw input.

I can recommend that tablet. It's also quite cheap to get if you just look for it anywhere other than amazon.
I bought mine for 75 bucks on ebay and had zero issues with it. Right now there are also several offers () for 60~ euro for a CTH-480 including pen, nibs and cable.
Most people are even selling basically new tablets because they simply don't "feel it". So you're getting a pretty much new CTH-480 including all you need for "only" 60 bucks.

Edit: Just don't forget to install latest drivers and FixMyPen to get rid of the initial input lag caused by the stabilizing feature.
del
Because they are always exhausted?
There is no other way to get the osu! Tablet?
I used an Intuos small as my first Tablet and it was great. however i didn't get a Warranty so im gonna get a bamboo too replace it :)
I was thinking of either getting a Bamboo Connect, or a Huion 420. Do you think either of these are a good option? I'm mostly worrying about latency and hover height. My Wacom 490 has a lot of latency, and I was looking for something better. I wanted to get a Wacom 480, but I couldn't find a safe place to buy it under $100. If you think any other tablets would be good, I'm also up for that.
