A lot of teams have only 3 players. That's not good. That means if one person is missing, the other team wins by forfeit. Can't you allow team captains to go and fill their teams to the maximum 6?

I think that the group stage is just to can lay our team in the Ro16. Maybe no one will be delete from tournament after the group stage ^^.

Asked around and found out that there are AT LEAST 4 successful registrations from our country (Jerry, 1811, buhzidao and mine), which is more than the 3 that most accepted teams have

I'm pretty sure that all of our registrations were "valid and serious", since the four of us had participated in the previous TWC

I finally know why no Japan player ing

TM didn't form the teams. Loctav sent the list of all participants to be checked and some of them have been rejected, that's why we have less players in teams that players that actually ed. And as you can have 6players per teams, if your country only get 6 or less validated player the team is obviously completed automatically.

Reasons for rejection will not be made public, so the best thing to do is that concerned players (rejected ones) send an email directly to TM to try to clarify the situation. Trust me it makes me feel sad as well but starting a drama here based on assumptions is not the right thing to do atm.

People breaking the of services have been preliminarily filtered, as well as people who had a ranking below #8000. You may say majority of the teams were formed by me, this is true, but this only applied to those who had less than 6 ed s anyways. Why should I ask a TM to pick 5 people from a list that only consists of 5 people or even less?
If majority would simply stop breaking the osu! of services, we wouldn't have this discussion. It's not hard to stop creating multi s or let your be basically a whore where everybody plays on.

The only countries who had more than 6 ed s remaining after filtering all registrations were and USA. In these cases, we declared a captain (MMzz and Nashmun in specific), presented them a list of all registrations and let them choose.

There is nothing wrong happening here. Japan did not because they misunderstood the ruleset, as explained by TKS to OnosakiHito.

Because of this, applying a simple rule inherit system, this tournament staff can't keep out an with multi (for example) because following Osu! rules their multi should have been erased long time ago (You even itted you know their multis by rejecting them), not banning their primary .

If even with this staff keeps rejecting more s, Spain (and not just Spain) will leave TWC 2015.

Having multis place you with appropriate consequences. That we reject players due to ToS violation has been done for three years already and you never had a problem with it.

This is an official tournament. If you wish to participate in officla tournaments, you have to at least respect the simple of services you agreed on when g up to osu!. We do not let people participate in tournaments we invest in, if they can not even follow our simple ruleset. It's not much we want. We just want you to stop shitting on the community, the staff and our rules if you want to take part in something we put effort in.

Keep in mind that we only pay attention to offenses happened within the last year. If you stop disrespecting our rules now, you can freely participate next year.

The motivation is absolutely there (@Arrival) but all of them have either too less players (e.g. Ukraine), misunderstood the rules (e.g. Japan), don't have time (e.g. Netherlands) or their players got retired (e.g Russia). Some didn't even know about the TWC since they missed the information. So it's less about the motivation and more about the other things. I will also give a little transparency to you guys, so you are more certain about what has been done before (to come to Nashmuns suggestion):

Countries not having enough players are myths. A LOT of people doesn't want to because they think they'll loose anyway. Along the year I've been told hundred of times that countries like Italy don't have any players and that we should allow multicountries team, and what do we see here ? An Italian team within the 16participant.
Even Hungary could gather a team because they had the motivation to, don't tell me countries like Russia/Ukraine/Brazil do not have enough player, I know by fact they have.

EDIT : Before someone points it out : I do not say every country of the world can gather a team so no need to point out a country saying "You see, no players". But there are way more than 16countries with players <#5000, just by playing multiplayer mode you should be able to see that

I absolutely agree with that. I've just put the information in a compact way. But even so, there is more than that sometimes - proud, certain rules, wrong view about mappools and more. There are more factors which effect the opinion of players in a country. I ecountered alot of them. So I think it is also about how we represent this TWC?

Well when you have the motivation you're able to find players (Please, Ukraine has 10 players in the Top #4K), or to find "time" (hey the whole NL team doesn't have the time, although all the other countries can , really ?). So Japan wasn't proud of winning last year because no Taiwan team ? Taiwan has a better TWC history than Japan (2wins out of 3participations), people tend to forget that and think Japan is some kind of superior entity that cannot be defeated while it's not.

As explained by peppy, we decided to extend the registration phase for another two weeks. Make sure to this competition to your friends and everyone who is a potential candidate for your country's team

How does the registration work exactly now? 2t2246

1. Everyone is g up individually for their country by sending a forum PM to me.
2. We roughly filter the ed s by their play performance and/or if they violated the osu! community rules (see below for details)
3. Whenever we finished filtering the ed s, the players who ed will be put on a candidate list for their country
4. The Tournament Management declares a captain from said list. This captain receives the list with the remaining candidates. Captains can freely pick from this list and found their team as they wish.
5. After sending the Tournament Management the compiled team, your team has been successfully created.

Obviously, people who ed successfully already do not need to re-. They are already recorded.

What do you filter ed s by? m105k

We filter by:

1. Taiko performance ranking. Whoever has a global Taiko performance ranking below #8000 will be filtered out. While we want to let participate as many people as possible, the mappools are designed around a certain difficulty level. It's very likely that people below a performance ranking below #8000 will not be able to play the tournament's maps at all. If they improve, they are free to !
2. Violation of the community rules: https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/wiki/Rules - In order to take part on any official tournament that is sponsored and organized by the osu!staff, you need to obey the community rules. Even though violating some of these specific rules do not lead to a full ban immediately, we still exclude everyone who offended within the last year. This includes creating multi-s, sharing your with others or using third-party software or other illegal software modifications. Not every rule is directly involved into the tournament outcome, but as long as you can not follow the community rules, we are not willing to let you an official competition. We would like to mention that we have been holding that requirement up for several years already and have been performed these checks ever since then. This is nothing new and moreover nothing arbitrary. We just want to inform you again that ing the TWC has these requirements. If you ever want to compete in the TWC, we advise you to stop violating the rules now.

Due to privacy issues, we will not reveal to the public who was rejected. Whoever wants to know or dispute the fact that they have been filtered by either of the above criteria is free to [email protected].

As by today, we extend the registration phase till 22nd February 2015, 23:59:59 UTC+0. Please send your forum PM titled "TWC Registration" to me till then. Please add your time zone to the message, so we can schedule you properly later.

^ if a true 4k ranked player (just about his skill) plays the tournament and can barely clear simple Oni, it probably won't be that fun to play for him. Then if there are enough "good" players in his country, they also might not be active or want to play the TWC. Well i have no idea about his real situation but it is not hard to understand him if he does not want to play the TWC for any of these reasons. Also i will never know the feeling but i can imagine that it is not that fun to lose as a team, even when you did reallly good, because you don't have enough "good" players (that's why i am afraid if i have to play a match here lol, i don't want to make my team lose).

Also is there a way to remove someone from a full team to get someone else in ? In case i should leave for someone stronger.

Keep in mind that if a majority of teams sign up with players 1-2k, all of these teams have more or less equal chances to get through group stage and win 1 or more match in knock-out stages.

I'm playing TWC knowing full well it'd be pretty much impossible for team Canada to beat or Japan (assuming they ed now), but I'm still going to play because it lets us see how we stack up against other countries while having fun.

You can still be competitive and have a good time while not expecting to win. Having a mindset that anyone attempting to do this shouldn't be playing would mean tournaments would never exist, because most of us know who the teams are that will win.

Not my goal to flame here but I feel genuinely sorry for your country if you aren't participating just because you won't win. That isn't the spirit of the tournament and you're only making the experience bad for yourself and others from your country who could otherwise enjoy the tournament and have fun.

Anyways going off on everything in this thread, I would love to play in the TWC but I can't because my countrymen are better than me! At least you have the opportunity to take part in an awesome event that many people are taking the time out of their day to run.

With that logic you're basically saying that African, North American, and Asian countries shouldn't even participate in the actual soccer world cup because they have little to no chance of winning. They play for the experience just as you should. I'm not trying to make you do anything, rather just offer a different perspective on how to look at playing in the TWC.

I also signed up at TWC , although I am still not great ability , at least I was able to participate in this tournament .

Man, I when 2 years ago I was like: "Why should I even participate if there are completely no chances for us?". If that's the reason why other countries aren't taking the part in this TWC... that's just sad, as guys explained above.

I know, that for lower ranks getting 'rekt' by Godlike teams wil not be fun at all, but that's not the point. It's not only about playing. Since the matches will be livestreamed (I hope), you can always watch others, even cheer them up and all this stuff. I know you guys also have friends all around osu! and you will be able to watch them struggling in hard matches.

But... not participating because of "having no chances" is really a bad idea. I realized that myself some time ago, even is our country is always knocked out after leaving the group stage. Also, playing in multiplayer with some random people is not even close to being the same as TWC. Of course, you can gather some people and play with them, but still - it's not the same.

From this point, I don't want to insult anybody, but stop crying and get into TWC. Who cares if you lose even on first match.
IMHO, TWC is an event where you can just forget about your rank. Am I just naive too?

Sorry, wasn't sure if i could participate but ed right before regs closed. I probably took a position that could have potentially been yours ;_;

Also, i had no idea i even made the team. Didn't realize it till i was told yesterday by someone else on the team... so i should probably start playing again

As much as I too want to play in the TWC as the next guy, I'm glad that the USA got more than 6 registrants. It really shows how serious USA is taking this year's TWC.
