FAQ 2j5zx

  1. What about a black model?
Not for now, I will look at more colour varieties in the future!
  2. Drivers? OS ?
Works out of the box on any OS.
  3. Who is the manufacturer?
HUION. They are a large and trustable chinese tablet manufacturer.
  4. The pen uses batteries?
Yes, 1 AAA. It is supposed to last for ages (I haven't run mine out yet), and the weight feels quite nice in the hand.
  5. Is a battery included?
    Yes.
  6. Spare nibs?
    Yes, four of them.
  7. Latency?
I have tested and can confirm the spec of ~5ms input latency (based on 200 reports/sec) is pretty accurate.
  8. Why so cheap?
I'm not looking to make a profit. Most osu! players don't have a huge disposable income, and my goal here is to allow everyone who wants to try a tablet to do so.
  9. But I want a larger 6"x8" tablet! I can't play on such a small one!
If there is enough demand, I can look at expanding the range. Personally I find this size more suitable for osu!, especially for people looking to start learning tablet play.
  10. How much is shipping?
    Asia: ~$11
North & Central America, Oceania, Middle East, Caribbean: ~$15
    Europe: ~$18
    South America, Africa: ~$20
See the checkout page at the store for more accurate shipping cost.
  11. Do you ship to xxx?
See this page for detailed shipping information.
  12. How long will delivery take?
Varies based on where it has to be shipped to. Anywhere from 2-14 days.

Tablet dimensions are always measure in imperial, unfortunately. That's just how things are.
So when can we start pre ordering?

Added to faq.
so is this going to be a first come first serve kinda thing?
sexy

i'd even buy one (if i have money) just because it's osu!
I really want one! but I would definitely prefer a black one, doushio (´ω`)
The sooner I can get my hands on one of these the better! :)
I already have a tablet, but damn, I think thats a huge step for osu and I love that its going into this direction.

Gj peppy, keep it up!
Wow nice!

The active area is actually very similar to what I'm using right now (99.3mm x 55.9mm). Very tempting hmm...

Can't quite tell what sort of surface finish it has from the pic though. Is it a matt finish throughout, or is it a smooth drawing area surrounded by matt finish?
Looks cool! I may buy this just to try a tablet, see if it is better than my mouse :D

I wish, but peppy is just a small developer.

Wacom don't offer such customised builds.

It has a paper-like texture and is not completely smooth, but not rough as such.
Ah I see thanks peppy!

Finally, right?

Please get this shipping soon ppy, holiday shopping is taking a toll on my wallet.
I hope it gets released before Christmas so I can give them as gifts to people.
That pen looks awesome, getting that tablet even if it's just to see how it performs against wacom tablets

A heavier pen will most probably mean way more control over your movements, which is nice.
I'm definitely getting one.
It'll actually encourage me to learn to play on tablet.

Mac, pls.
Buy em all, im waiting for a black design version :P
white is way better than black
once you go black you don't go back doe
I want there to be a design to reflect the darkness of my soul
I'm down with the black colorway. It makes the logo pop out on any desk setup that you have.
HD on demand type shit ^.
Simply because its black. But i'd still buy this first osu! tabet
Bet that.

Glad my friend showed me this game 3 months ago. Been on it ever since.

The idea of osu!tablets has been around for about a year. :P
I'm considering getting this. But there is one thing I'm not sure about. Are there any performance issues? For example, can you play using this tablet as good as if you would use a Wacom tablet? Like if rrtyui played with this, would he play as good?

When I get this, should I set the tablet area proportions to match my osu! resolution proportions? (16:10 1680x1050 fullscreen)
pretty cool, hope this can be shipped to china mainland

By the stated specs only, the tablet would be better than a Wacom Bamboo tablet (though the osu!tablet has a smaller tablet area).

It would need some testing to make sure it is like that.
Great, i'll buy black version as soon as possible :3
ampzz
I'll be waiting patiently on a 6x9" release since I cannot physically adjust to a smaller tablet due to constant hand jitters which is utterly impossible to play anything bar no mod comfortably.

When they (the larger tablets) are released I will be instantly purchasing 2~3.
mekadon_old
That's really cheap, even if it's $50 with shipping. Would get a dark version once it is released. Would be nice too if I can test first, but the specs are way better than my one

A heavy pen sounds nice too
[-Meiton-]
I hope the shipping is available for hungary.
Well, 30$ is roughly 95 PLN, and the newest Wacom Bamboo is 245 PLN. And both Wacom and Huion have unofficial Linux drivers...
Shipping costs are really going to be the dealbreaker here.
I can't wait for these to come out. Hoping to buy one as soon as I can
I'm really considering buying one. I always wanted to try playing with a tablet but buying one only for osu! wasn't worth the price.
Battery included? (I'm a cheap guy so I just want to make sure I can use it right away or I need to go out and get some when it arrives)
What's the approx shipping for Europe? If it's over 2,7 AUD then for example I'd have to pay for customs. (Presuming that 30$ is AUD.)

Yeah, if I remeber correctly, it was said somewhere that it is included.
This looks awesome, if I didn't already have a tablet I'd definitely go for one of these ^^
wow very nice job on the design
I'm excited on the once its available and used by players.
I love it, can't wait for it to be available, good job as always !
Looking forward to it! But I'll wait for a black version, to match my computer look.
Looks like I'm going to put off getting a tablet just for a little longer. P: Awesome job!
Depending on the shipping costs, maybe one is coming here to Spain with me.
Is there a version for left handed people?
yknow, the design would be ~flipped~ like this
Can't wait to be able to order one! I know what I'm getting for late Christmas presents now. :o
This is going to sell very well. Good job I can't wait!
I could give out as I were the tester in those videos.
I will give it as a bamboo/intuos (Wacom) for a long time.

Pen
- Not too light and not too heavy
- Grip it quite comfortably (more than wacom tablet) as the body is not too thin and it was somewhat like a rubber that you won't slip a pen
when you are a bit sweaty from playing osu!
- Tapping is as same as Bamboo and intuos I use (can't figure out any differences) but it doesn't have different pressure level?
- The pen nip can open or close like ordinary pen does. (when you press the button on the pen's head)
- A bit little delay when hovering compared with those wacom stuffs but it doesn't affect anything (probably the pc for testing wasn't that good for testing)

Tablet area
- I got used to it quickly though. The area was a bit smaller than the bamboo one.
- When dragging a pen on the tablet, it was more slippery than the bamboo but it's not too slippery to the point you can't control anything.

I personally think osu!tablet is worth for 30$. I used something like 30$ before using the bamboo and it was way too worse compared with this one.
So yea, looking forward to it \:D/
Looks great, can't wait until it comes out. I want to get one from the first batch but I also want one in a different color cause I have my needs :P
Keep up the great work Peppy! :)
Will there be a slightly larger one because I would buy one :D
Bundle it with an osu! sticker and a 1 week er tag :p

as long as i can ship the battery, i will. i will be sending them out of japan, and japan has strict-ish battery postage laws, so i'll see what i can do.

there are no buttons on the tablet, so handedness does not matter.
How much of these will be available from the start ?

I'd be happy to buy one for christmas or later, but I'm kinda anxious about not being able to buy mine before it's out of stock.. :?

I was considering getting a tablet, then you just posted this, I was so happy you can't even figure it out. :D
I was thinking of getting a tablet just for osu! so I would buy this as long as the shipping cost to Canada isn't to high.
I believe I will buy this. Seems reasonably priced and I can get used to dimensions, little bigger than ones I use on my tablet now.
Only thing I would change is the color to black. Looks like a very nice product none the less.

Frosty so adorable lol

Not a fan of the small area or color scheme but the pen looks really good (better than the Wacom pens) and of course at $30 it's damn good value.
im not sure if the price is 30$, in indonesian is worth 349768 ruphias.someone tell me that i am not wrong,so i can bought this one if shipped around indonesia.
