osu! is crashing a lot after retrying maps.

I got about 4 crashes in the last 10 minutes, all after retrying, way too annoying.

two small problems:
dim slider issue when playing many diffs from same mapset still not fixed, see: t/102198
mod select button is now redundant in multiplayer for players who are not room host, so probably you want it removed now

It's a good update, I like the removal of the No Video mod that didn't seem to belong among the others. What I really don't like is the fullscreen editor...

The bugs make me think this is the 12/21/12 everyone was talking about, but I'm sure they'll be fixed in no time ^^ Just seemed that this version wasn't completely ready for public release quite yet.

look a bit closer at the new massive visual settings box it isn't gone just moved to a more fitting place

The Visual settings is annoying when i play CTB when i select a song. I dunno, it just annoys the crap out of me. It would be nice if it didn't pop up after you select a song and it pops up when you pause the game.

Plus, is it me or is the speed doubled on certain songs because i could've sworn it has. I mean, one song I'm trying to ace is now five times fucking harder then before.

if I remove SB Files on a Beatmap file then the maps wont run no matter what, and seems like I need to re-DL it and I am very very lazy to do it.

but now the first note of some songs appear immediately after "skip"
so is it possible to add short prelude (e.g. 5 seconds) after "skip"? i think it is more playable.

Where is the option to go back to previous background style? This change doesn't work with some maps.

I find visual settings being on down border bad, why?
When for example i want to click show chat, and afterwards hit exit song, I can't because I need to move mouse out of visual settings spoiler, and then move again to hit exit

first I was like

"WOAH WHATZ IS THIS AT THEW BOTTOM OF MY SCREEN?!?"

I like visual settings on the bottom of the screen, they look... professional.
also, 100% dim will shut up everybody. it's nice that peppy found this compromise between mappers interest and performance oriented players interest. all in all, big update, much love, and probably one of the best things that could have happened at the worlds end <3

Love the new look and the transition between the songs. Amazing stuff. But I have my "Playfield".jpg/.png to black but it seems that it's illegal to delete the backgrounds (even though plenty of them are just plenty distracting to begin with), I'd just like to have my background black.

This is a clear reason why I used to delete the backgrounds (and even storyboards because flying lyrical text going across the board is fun to watch...>.>). Keeping Osu! for me is to keep it as clean and clear to my eyes as possible without any distraction. I guess I'll just roll with it...with a tear.

No any other way aside from reing beatmaps. (beatmap packs or er's direct )
If you have some friends playing osu!, why not copy some beatmaps from them?

You can bring back your BGs by going to paint save it the same as the maps BG name

for example derp.jpg/png

Great visual upgrade. But with every new update FPS drops lower and lower. I look forward to updates to improve performance. Last update brought delays in starting beatmap with hardening cursor and drop FPS.

How's the SB fix going to work? Just going to do letterboxing (basically making it look like it did before this update) or will there be stretching? And will it affect past and future maps differently?

EDIT: Never mind, seems ranked maps have been letterboxed, but unranked ones will need to be updated. Not a problem!

Will there be an option or fix to stop the Visual Settings from appearing as soon as a beatmap is loaded.

I like this new update overall! however I find it weird that still with the "low-end PC" the transitions on the song selection screen still apply.
(I'd also like to disable it anytime, I like to change maps quickly and transitions don't let me =/)

another thing is that I really dislike the widescreen with standard BGs, they end up cropping out on the sides and I really like having them complete =/... same thing goes with the videos...
there should be something to detect which maps are widescreen and which are not on the osu files (I dunno, a line which, if present, loads as widescreen and as standard if it doesn't have it)

seems like I'll have to add the black bars on the sides of my maps for the time being=/

Лично я - против последней обновы. Все что я в ней нашел из видимого мне не понравилось. Единственное позитивное - это приятный круг OSU! при старте карты. Итак начну свою критику. 1) Панель с низу (коротая всплывает при старте карты) меня изрядно бесит и сильно надоедает. К примеру когда збил комбо, жмешь заново и приходится ждать пока выскочит табличка и пропадет. Также она сильно отвлекает внимание. И ОЧЕНЬ сильно напрягает ждать пока она появится, пока спрячется и пока начнется проиграш и можно спокойно нажать SKIP. + путается с чатом 2)Я заметил поддержку широкоформатных мониторов. Да, конечно это большой плюс но есть свои НО, такие как некоторые картинки некорректно обрезаются, и не видно например головы на картинке/видео. Не смертельно но напрягает. Спинер все ещо квадратный и выглядит коряво после того как ты привык к фулскрину. И иногда заметил что слева, в рекордах иногда збивается построение, и буквы сливаются с очками и превращаются в некрасивую кашу. Да многим людям эта обнова наверняка понравится, но для тех кому она не очень буду просить маленькое добавление. Можно ли будет в настройках указывать где розмещять данную панель. То есть выбор из 2-n пунктов или маленькая збоку, или большая снизу и тому подобное. Надеюсь будут прогресс и эта прекрасная игра и дальше будет развиваться в лудшую сторону.

Personally, I - against the last Update. All I see in her from the visible I did not like. The only positive - it's a nice range of OSU! at the start of the map. So start my criticism. 1) with the bottom (short beatmaps pops up at the start), I was pretty angry and very annoying. For example when failed combo, you press again and have to wait until the pop label and lost. Also, it is highly distracting. AND VERY annoying to wait until it becomes available, and as long as hide proigrash starts and you can safely press SKIP. + Confused with chat 2) I noticed widescreen monitors. Yes, of course it is a big plus but has its BUT, such as some of the pictures are cut correctly, and do not see such a head on a picture / video. Not fatal but annoying. Spinner escho all square and looks sloppy after you got used to fulskrinu. And sometimes noticed that the left, records sometimes zbivaetsya building, and the letters are merged with the glasses and turn into an ugly mess. Yes, many people will enjoy this new thing, but for those to whom it is not going to ask for a small addition. Would it be possible to specify in the settings where rozmeschyat this . That is a choice of 2-n zboku items or small, or large bottom, and the like. I hope this will be made and a great game and will continue to develop in better side.

Also, I'd like an option to disable widescreen BGs. They don't really look nice with the skin I'm using (the countdown is cut off from the sides) and it bothers me. I mean I could just make the countdown images 100% transparent, but they look nice and I'd rather keep them.

I really like how the song pauses when changing the graphics settings, and I also like how it looks and the new location.
Although I don't really like having the Osu! splash/watermark at the start or having the loading circle. Before having the loading circle I never noticed the load time but now it seems to take a little while to get the song ready.

Eventually, you won't even be able to delete BGs when osz2 is implemented. The warning message is a step closer to this.

So for now, stop pissing all over mappers' hard work and deleting them, then you'll stop getting the messages ^^

Actually, I'm still in the position of having to delete backgrounds... there are a number of maps where turning off the storyboard to stop flashes results in a black background, which I don't care for. So I still go in to remove flashes manually. and in one case recently I found that some of the flashes used the actual background image of the map, so I ended up deleting the background in order to play with a background instead of on an empty black screen. There's some irony for you.
