The centre key shouldn't be yellow for left-to-right key config. We will fix this. Please report the issue in the tech forum, not here.

Well, i've installed the update and now i got the error:

"Error while processing Songs"

Any idea? I don't want to over 2000 songs again...

This means you have a corrupt osz2 file in your songs folder, likely from the test server. For now you can just remove all osz2 files, then add them back one by one (please send me the broken one if you find it!).

Scores are standardised to 10m currently.
Is it compatible with IIDX controller as well?

That's what I thought so too about standarizing the points to 10m.

I think it would make sense to use the combo for points. I thought of maybe that every 10x Combo adds another 10.
So if you have combo 10x you'll get 310
Combo 20x gives 320
Combo 30x gives 330
and so on.
I think it makes a bit sense, because at a normal map I could easily go to 700+ combo. I can think that some Insane maps could give you whooping 2000x combos. This could potetionally reward the higher difficulty players and not make people just farm for lower scores and make Play Points distribution a lot more sense.

Also the mods don't make sense at all to use. Everything just gives 1.00x and if you use the keys modifier, 4 keys still is only 1.00x but 5k and higher lowers to 0.86x

There is an issue causing standard to occasionally not be ranked, which seems to be fixed by restarting osu!. If you can figure out why this is happening, please let me know.
Hmm, I can't recall what I did when the score didn't get submitted. orz

I'll see if I can get the problem again and I'll try replicating again.

I'm experiencing serious timing problems in osu!mania (notes come half a second too late, as well as hitsounds). What's going on ?

The timing for osu! mania is too strict for me (Or the input itself was laggy).
I'm sorry if you guys think you're okay but I came from O2Jam and it was less laggy than osu!mania. But well it's a beta. I hope it can be improved even more so I can play osu! more (I can't play osu! with mouse for too long, my hand hurts easily)

I did some search on youtube for osu!mania, i'm afraid it's not kind of something that I'd be willing to play, but however I'm looking forward for it. :D
Glad to finally have the per-object samplesets.

Any plans to change the custom overrides to work from the dropdown? Right now you still have to barcode if you want to use more than just normal, soft, and drum.

Peppy I've noticed one problem with osu!mania. I finally figured out how to change scroll speed, but the problem is that only the +/- keys beside my top numbers work. I was trying to use the +/- keys on my numpad (with numlock on), and I was wondering why they weren't working. It would make things a lot easier to add in for the numpad +/-.

It just uses the button you use to change your offset. Change your offset keys to numpad.

Now i just have to reset my "keybindings" for my fingers. After a few years of playing jamlegend/guitarhero, 5 note fingers just don't cut it for osu!mania.

And THANK YOU. I was wondering when the lords of osu! decided they wanted to dominate the rest of the rhythm game market. I don't think there is any competition left after osu!mania kicks in full time

On multiplayer for some weird reason when i get FC and the others not i still dont get first place even if there max is like 300combo and mine 500combo.
Can anyone explain that?

I have a complaint. Not because the song is HARD means to be playing it with 6K. I want to play a song with 4K HARD, like it easy and play it in 6K. Hope it's not the only one who has noticed this. Because 4K Mod lowers total score which I find totally unacceptable. Equality for all modes.

You can change the speed with ctrl-+/- (technically, it's ctrl + whatever you use to adjust offset (in case you've changed those in the options from +/-)).

I tried out osu!mania yesterday and I really liked this new game mode.^^
I hope there will be a osu!mania skin with piano/synth sounds when it gets finalized. Or at least someone who can make one. :D
Ahhh current osu hitsound system is only good for percussion sounds. Tried to mapping osu mania map with various hitsounds other than percussions, like guitar sound or piano sound or something(of course since I'm no professional in music, so my samplings are really crappy, lol. I just wanna test something technical.), and the result was quite painful. At least it would hane been much better if setting hitsound-set for each note was woking properly, but unfortunately whenever I used that too much, it got break in testplay in gameplay. Also there were some irritating bugs in osu mania editor...

Well but if we play osu mania with proper maps, the gameplay itself is pretty fine, I guess.
Well its going to be a rarity for mass hitsound sets to be used in mania properly unless someone has the master for a song to pull out instrument sections for it to be played off in mania anyways or if someone here produces music and maps :S

But in reality I believe Djmax and EZ2on use 2 tracks where whats played is nonexistant on one track while whats suppose to be played is on an instrument track so whats actually happening is the sounds are seek indexed and played off of the instrument track when the button is pressed so I don't think its just a bunch of samples for the sake of simplicity but its just a guess.

I think, but don't know exactly, if it's possible to change the icons of the 4k, 5k, 6k, ... mods in osumanie. I like to create my own one.
Does anyone know the name, my files should have to owerwrite the existing icon designs?

This is a big release not only because it has a new game mode, but because it brings in a lot of changes which may have been lost over the last two years, and makes further changes a breeze to make in comparison (if you want to know more about this, I explain it briefly here). But who am I kidding, you all want to try osu!mania, and now you can! A huge shout-out to woc2006 for implementing this game mode so well.

Keep in mind osu!mania is not yet finalised, and may still have bugs an.d issues which need to be resolved. You can post any issues you have to Technical (please start the thread subject with [osu!mania]).

Apart from osu!mania, there are a lot of other changes, all of which I cannot list in this one place. But here are some that are important to note:
  1. Beatmap processing is now many times more efficient.
  2. BSSv2 is now live. The first time you update existing maps will do a full submit, but it will be super fast (and simple!) after that.
  3. Per-object hitsounds are in the editor (kudosu! to mm201 for this one). No more 10000+ timing sections to get your map sounding right. (we've been using this on osu!stream for a while now and you can't go back.) You can quickly set these using Shift+QWER and Ctrl+QWER.
  4. Allow recovery from failing in multiplayer by reaching full HP.
  5. Scrolling to in-game online ranking list.
  6. Fixes to skin select to make it play more realistically.
If you have issues, post them here, and note:
  1. If your beatmap database corrupt or got processed wrong, include osu!.db.xxxxxx.bak in your post (attach using puush or mediafire).
  2. If your scores database corrupt or got processed wrong, include osu!scores.db.xxxxxx.bak in your post (attach using puush or mediafire).
  3. If you are seeing a graphical issue, please include a screenshot or video.

  1. Please discuss this mode using the #osumania chat channel.
  2. Online ranking is disabled until has been received and scoring and conversion is finalised.
  3. Please don't submit osu!mania maps yet.
  4. osu!mania editor is still very much a WIP.
  5. A lot of +difficulty mods are not yet finished/finalised.
  6. An updated template skin will be released soon. You can find more details on skinning at the wiki page.
  7. Adjust speed of notes with Ctrl +/-
Note that as this is a pretty big release from a technical perspective, a lot has changed internally (most of which you will not see). A lot could go wrong, even though it has been thoroughly tested. If anything goes wrong, I have saved up sleep and will work my hardest to fix it in the shortest time possible. Please be patient.

On a personal note, this is the largest single-chunk feature another dev has contributed to osu!. I hope going forward we will see more of this, as it really helps keep the ball rolling while I am busy fixing bugs and keeping things running smoothly. I can't promise anything, but there may be another game mode in development in the not-so-distant future, so stay tuned :D.

Is ti possible to display controls in Osu!Dj Max all the time on those buttons? Not only for couple seconds after the song starts. I'm having problems with using the correct keys :/
