Updated the entire codebase and changed the way it works!

Beatmap Pack Mirror v2

Main changes:

1. Design/Layout completly redone
2. Cookie that stores your s is now compressed (For slow connections this increases load speed!)
3. s start instantly now
4. "Copy ingame Text" button added for easy ingame sharing! (Now also for Packs!)
5. Operates with AJAX to reduce loadtimes and increase browsing speed!
6. Localized the page for: German, English, Japanese, Dutch, Chinese, Korean (more will be added!)
7. I increased the overall bandwith to 3MByte/sec per IP

I used it to all the beatmaps and it was alot fast and easier than mediafire

Two things I noticed which make me frown:

* The font is as ugly as Comic Sans (and the fallback is Comic Sans itself).
* The s have an ugly [YAS-online] prefix or whatever. Completely unnecessary in my opinion.

That's why i changed to x-sendfile, it's peppy's fault that i know about it. (I even installed it to my apache2 because of him )

I'm using OS X too and have no problem reading the font.

1. Font nuked out of the style. I use a websafe font now that is ugly as hell but readable.
2. Added live stats to the header
3. Added Google+ button next to the navigation (Press it! )
4. Added disclaimer (some angry kid annoyed me with his packs being 'plagerized' by me)
5. Fixed an issue with IE7 not loading the packs right (God please kill Microsoft)

Please change the file naming format to the standard osu! format. When osz2 is introduced, all the maps ed without the standard format will need to be reed.

Give me the formating rules then please. Althought i will only change it for the maps, not for the packs, the tag was a request by someone that was as follows:

"Can you add some kind of tag to your filenames so they show up next to each other after ing? My folder is a mess and this would help."

Wait what? So I gotta have to re like all 2000 maps I have or what?

If they are not in the correct filename structure, you could potentially rename them.

I wonder, why would osu! not import them just because the filename is different? Isn't all the informations in the map itself anyway?

It is used as metadata hints where otherwise unavailable.

Oh well, whatever.

1. Removed tags from filenames (will be adding it back to packs once i feel like it)
2. Changed beatmap filenames to #ID - #Map.osz (I don't really have Artist and Title so i just rip the part from the filename in the rar archives )

Adding it to packs is fine really, but still ugly and pointless.

1. Language won't fall back to english when you click a map within a package
2. Language won't fall back to english when you click a search result

You got it wrong that's the traffic display for the current month.

Because of this, updated:

1. Stats display now shows disc usage
2. Stats have been labled for clarification

More stuff was added:

1. http://osu.yas-online.net/linkgrabber - this will grab you a list of links to ALL PACKS (Default & Themes) that are available. This can be used with Jer (Linkgrabber).

Please note that the links in the file will most likely only work for 24h, except if you have a static ip.

Very nice idea for those who, like myself utilise queue add-ons or programs for grabbing multiple files quickly and easily compared to manually clicking each individual link.

I used this a fair bit when I was starting off my osu! beatmap collection.

Currently the Server is experiencing some difficulties because of our hoster, should be over tonight. Sorry for inconvinience.

1. Removed the Link-Grabber from the navigation. It's still there, but it produces a lot of false traffic due to missuse. Please only use it when you intent to the whole thing, not if you only want 10 packs!

Bass - if you don't know our grammar rules nor the general "feeling" of language - don't even start translating stuff. It'd be better for you if you left that in English. By your action you've only made a tard of yourself. Again.

I managed to get the jer team to add official for the mirror. It will be included in the next update that is scheduled to be released in 1-2 weeks. It will make you able to just copy the link to a pack from your address bar and jer will automagically detect it's a . Just like with rapidshit and megafail etc.

I also added Social Bookmark buttons to the upper right of the page, so if you are ed with Twitter or Digg you can help spreading word of my mirror.

As an after effect to the prior incedend the harddrive partition is probably giving up right now.

Expect downtimes and instable s (in other words avoid using the mirror) until futher notice.

Problem has been resolved, however there where many errors to be corrected.

Also:

1. Implemented use of "Local Storage" which is ed in all major browsers (if you use a recent version) **

** This will improve speeds by storing images and scripts in your browsers cache. It is also different from the normal cache since this one does not ask the server via HTTP first if the file was changed. This increases speed a lot. For me it is a reduction from 5.0sec to 1.2sec

We are currently updating the dom0 (Xen) of our server which will take a while. While that is the case you page might seem online, but it is NOT.

I will as always report back when we are done.

@Pesets and the osu!droid faction: will NOT be working while we update. And in addition i am rewriting the part that accepts osu!droid s and thus i can take up to 48 hours after the server is back online for the s to work again.

First post updated. Moving back to old, own, url. I have done something i probably shouldn't have. I'm not going to discontinue this project. If you like what i have done with this, update your bookmarks to http://osu.yas-online.net the other domain will go offline sometime in the future.

osu!droid s will likely be provided by peppy sometime soon, until then you will still be able to directly via my mirror. Once map s are available via osu! directly i'll remove the map feature all together, there is no use in wasting 40GB with something that isn't used.

It was a great time while i was kind of official, but i see that i did something that isn't easily fix. I have hurt the trust in me.

I hope most of you will still use my mirror, i put a lot of work into it, shutting it down would really hurt a lot.

Attention everyone that uses osu!droid

There was is a bug in the second last version of osu!droid which causes you to get ticket timed errors. If you experience a lot a failing s you should update your osu!droid version, Pesets has release a fix already.

I just added and enabled SSL for this page, you will notice since PC clients will recieve a HSTS header which tells your browser to jump to SSL automatically.

This breaks osu!droid for now, i informed Pesets and he will update osu!droid ASAP, so don't worry that'll be working soon again, too.

Currently down because we are moving, we will be back shortly.

This project is currently dying. I'm sad to say this, but work has gotten the better of me. I'm willing to share the source, once i wiped it of all the "Hey lets include root s in configs"-madness.

Is anyone willing to take over this project?

What you'll need at the very least:
- 300 Mbit/sec
- 4 GB Ram (DB + PHP Cli)
- 1 core with 2.4 Ghz (i guess?)

If anyone is taking over for real, i will be providing all my running mirror childs. I just don't have the time to update/maintain this project anymore, but still ressources that i can offer.

This mirror is not about to be shut down, don't worry.

What do you need to keep things running?

Basically nothing, to keep it running nothing needs to be done. But there is so much -requests with osu!droid demands. But for osu!droid there (propably is new api on it's way already? @hexide

Start the thing and it'll keep working for a while. You'll need someone to manually add new Packs, though. (Can be replaced with form, surely)

Are you panning on continuing to run it minus new features, or are you going to shut it down? Your previous message was a tad unclear.

I will run it as long as it takes for osu!droid to find a replacement DDL service.

- I don't have time anymore, not even to add packs to it
- When i come i never feel up to coding privatly

I can provide adequate hosting if someone is willing to maintain it.

Why does someone need to manually add new packs? Couldn't a script/bot handle this behind the scenes? Link it up so that beatmaps packs that get added to osu! get added to droid as well or are there differences that prevent this?

There is a script, but right now it i just the packs from mediafire and put the in the correct directory. (Manually)

That's, because at the time there was no way to request packs from an API-like. We worked something up but, meh, by then u got my job and everything became dusty.

Maintaining this basically means:

- Update the code base, if it will fail in the future (not so much required, really)
- , rename and put packs in the "right" place
- Start the "update.db.php" tool to scan for new packs and add them (also Spams nice osu!droid notices on Twitter, if enabled)
- Start the "sync.php" tool, which will spread files to child servers (Hot caching and availability maintainer)

The part about adding new files is most critical, since it depends on this very process, that osu!droid s get new maps!

I'm on business trip all week and mostly forget about adding packs, Neico has been so kind to help me out here. (Heh, one of osu!droid developers ..)

So i'm almost done with cleaning the source. Please PM me if you are interessted, so i can discuss details there.

A: You can poke peppy and ask him for another domain, but in this 1 year of contribution it just always was osu.yas-online.net so this is the brand the know and trust. Why SSL? Well because you are ing music under "fair use".... that doesn't apply to all places in this world, so keeping you save with SSL is a good thing.

After a lot of back and forth. I will be continuing this service until i run out of possibilities to do so.
