Let me begin by saying I have no idea if this is a problem with the map, Osu!, or my computer.

I played both of these maps with HR + DT. These are normal difficulty maps.

I first played https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/b/264100?m=0 this maps Normal mode with the two mods I stated, and I died at the end spinner. I got a spin of around 8000 or so, I forget, it's been an hour or so since I did. It just ended as if it was sudden death, but I didn't miss a single note. No problem, I tried it again, and the same problem. I asked my friend if he had a similar problem, so he suggested I try it with nofail first. (Note: before I asked my friend for help, I closed Osu!). I wasn't trying since it was nofail (+ the two mods), and I missed 3 notes throughout the map, and I didn't die at the end spinner. I then tried again with just the two mods and no nofail, and I could get past the map easily with an FC and it didn't end the map like it was.

This made me a bit mad, since it was around 10 minutes of my time just redoing the map, but I only played it 4 times, so I just pushed it aside.

Then, a few minutes later I played https://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/b/191231&m=0 this map. Normal mode with the two mods. It was going completely fine, I was FCing it, and at the end spinner I tried extremely hard and got 41000.... then I died like the Time Bomb level. Okay no big deal, last time it was resolved by me restarting Osu! right? Well, I restarted Osu, and tried again. FC'd the map with a 42000 spin this time.... and died.

That's when I ragequit and took a long shower and then typed up this post. What was the problem? I was playing Osu! on a MacBook, on Mavericks. I play with my trackpad using Inklet, which makes my trackpad act like a tablet. This bug has never happened to me before in the past.

Was it Osu!'s problem? Was it the map's problem? Was it my computer's problem? Was I spinning it so fast that the game thought I was hacking and instakilled me?

I don't think it is caused by severe lag, because I wasn't lagging at all, nor did my computer just start u all its computer power. Take note that this has happened to me 4 times within the same hour. I switched applications on my computer to do things and browse forums between 'times'. I was on mumble with friends and their voices didn't cut out like it normally does whenever I have system lag.

Hmm. I've experienced it multiple times by my desktop with system lag. Maybe that's another way of experiencing this.
On a side note, it seems more people are experiencing this as time es by.

1) That happening on two maps probably means it's not about the map.
2) I've gone up to 475 RPM on spinners (max being 477) and wasn't killed. I doubt that's the problem ; and I don't think osu! has any way of detecting cheaters. To my knowledge, it's just the community who's reporting cheaters.
3) Have you tried restarting your computer?
4) It may have to do with the fact it's a MacIntosh and osu! was updated recently. I'd advise you to get Windows.

Yes, if you open cheat engine when osu is open osu! doesn't submit scores...

And please stop saying to to Windows, osu! players who use Mac can play osu! on Mac OS

There's a thread saying that newest osu! version isn't working properly in macOS for now. You might want to check that and find if there's something related to your problem

Probably works now...

The difference between their problem and mine for Osu not working properly is that their entire game isn't starting up at all. Also I do have a windows computer, but it doesn't have the app called Inklet on it which allows the trackpad to act like a tablet. That's why I play on my mac. Even when I get the Osu!tablet, I'll still probably use my mac mainly for Osu because it's my most portable computer.

I haven't tried restarting my computer, but I highly doubt that would be the problem.

Plus, now that I think about it, seeing as how this problem hasn't happened before in over 50 hours of playing Osu on this laptop, I'd think it's a problem with the recent update, and not my computer.

I recorded a video of it happening. (Disregard the tabbing out during the break. I believe I tabbed out for a second during the break to switch tabs on Firefox, because sometimes having a tab with content open makes my game lag just a bit).

There is no sound because I didn't record the sound. This is the same map I mentioned in the first post, Harry - Earth Day. I'm playing with the same mods, DT and HR.

I had ranked high on 2 or 3 maps before this one with the same mods, both 'normal' difficulty.

I encountered the same problem around 2 hours later with Jeff Williams - This Will Be the Day (http://osu-ppy-sh.tvgratuite.org/s/117269) on Normal. I then proceeded to use automated mod to watch an automated runthrough (with the mods, of course), then it finished. I tried again right after watching the runthrough, and I beat the map without the instant death.

Question. Were you able to miss any notes/sliders while on this "lag just a bit" you're saying?

I shouldn't have. I looked at the video again, and it says I got a 813 combo after the spinner. I looked on the map's page, and can see that nobody in the top rankings has gotten a combo over 812. Maybe I somehow got an extra note so the game failed me?

E: I also rewatched the video, looks like I edited it badly and left in a failed attempt heh. During 1:30 or so, the game stutters and makes me miss a note, so I just click on retry. This happens occasionally because my computer isn't too great. But I can still get high rankings on maps. This lag isn't what's causing the problem, I know. It's something to do with the maps or something, I dont know. Seeing as it happened 3 times on this map already, once when I was recording, it's gotta be the map's problem or something
