I think it would be better if we just had some kind of "absolute" scrolling speed, and lets us adjust x1.5 x2.0 or whatever it might be, rather then current system where scrolling speed depends on song's BPM.
It's great that we have a fine-tuning speed system now, but having to decide between speeds of 7, 8 or 9 isn't the easiest of things to do when you're trying to play the map. This will happen (and is happening now I believe) because the 'optimal' speed for each map is different. That's why I think we should still have a basic scroll-speed-multiplier kind of system just to simplify things if nothing else.

ryza

679 posts

ed October 2011

ryza

2012-10-11T00:34:28+00:00

Speed is based off of BPM. Being able to freely do the math at any point makes it so you dont have to what speed modifier numbers you like for certain bpms, so more along the lines of renaming the speed modifiers would be nice. Also adding bpm info during multiplayer would help a lot since it sucks when you lose because you can't always clearly determine what speed would work best for you until the song starts.Edit: Also Cmods would be pretty sweet, c=constant. As in if you set it to c400 the notes will constantly fall at the rate of 400bpm at a x1 multiplier. Of course the point where this becomes unfair is when songs have multiple bpms, in which case you are pretty much cheating the difficulty, so it would have to be a mod that makes your score unranked.

Harappy

11 posts

ed October 2009

Topic Starter

Harappy

2012-10-18T06:05:54+00:00

Cmod sounds great for practicing maps

Archangel Tirael

479 posts

ed January 2011

Archangel Tirael

2012-10-18T09:29:45+00:00

Lol. Accelerating part actually mattered in O2Jam because it was not possible to adjust scrolling speed during the game but not in this game.If sudden decrease and Increase is what you mean by, it still shouldn't be a major problem we can just simply accelerate or slow it down according to starting bpm.]Silynn wrote:
Speed is based off of BPM.
